Our Data discipline at Endava spans data engineering, analytics, architecture, modeling, machine learning, and AI. We partner with clients to design and deliver modern data platforms that enable scalable analytics, advanced research, and data-driven decision-making.
As a Data Architect, you will play a key role in defining and driving the target data architecture for a quantitative asset management client within a global investment manager. You will lead the migration of a complex data ecosystem from AWS to Azure, define architectural standards and patterns, and ensure the platform supports a wide range of investment management and research use cases.
This role combines strategic architecture leadership, hands-on technical depth, and strong stakeholder engagement across technology and investment domains.
Responsibilities
- Define and own the target data architecture and migration strategy for moving data infrastructure from AWS to Azure
- Design end-to-end cloud-native data architectures leveraging Azure services, Snowflake, Databricks, and modern ETL/ELT and orchestration frameworks
- Establish architectural principles, standards, and reference architectures covering:
- Data ingestion, transformation, and orchestration
- Analytical and research data platforms
- Security, access control, and compliance
- Scalability, performance, and cost optimization
- Lead architectural decision-making across batch and streaming data pipelines, supporting both operational and research workloads
- Partner closely with data engineers, analytics teams, and investment stakeholders to ensure architecture aligns with business and research needs
- Guide and review solution designs, ensuring adherence to architectural standards and best practices

- Act as a trusted technical advisor to senior client stakeholders, translating complex technical concepts into clear architectural guidance
- Engage directly withC-level executives and senior leadership to shape data strategy, investment in platforms, and long-term architectural direction
- Lead executive-level architecture discussions and design reviews, presenting trade-offs, risks, costs, and benefits to support informed decision-making
- Translate business, investment, and research objectives into clear data architecture strategies, ensuring alignment between executive priorities and technical execution
- Serve as a senior architectural voice in governance forums, influencing platform roadmaps, cloud strategy, and data operating models
- Contribute to delivery planning, risk management, and governance within Agile and change programs
- Mentor engineers and architects, promoting architectural consistency and engineering excellence
- 12+ years of experience designing and delivering enterprise-scale data platforms, with significant experience in data architecture roles
- Proven experience defining and executing data cloud migration strategies, ideally across AWS and Azure
- Demonstrated experience engaging with C-level executives and senior leadership, with the ability to influence strategy and drive alignment across business and technology stakeholders
- Strong hands-on experience with Azure data services, Snowflake, and Databricks in production environments
- Deep understanding of modern data architecture patterns, including:
- Lakehouse and cloud data platforms
- ETL / ELT design
- Batch and streaming processing
- Data governance and quality frameworks
- Strong background in data modeling (3NF, dimensional modeling, Data Vault) and analytical data design
- Proficiency in Python and SQL; ability to engage at a hands-on level when needed
- Experience with orchestration frameworks (e.g., Airflow, Azure-native orchestration tools)
- Solid understanding of security, identity, and access control in cloud data platforms.
- Experience working in or with investment management, asset management, or financial services environments
- Familiarity with financial and market data products such as Bloomberg (BBG), LSEG, MSCI, and FactSet is highly desirable
- Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences, and clearly articulate complex architectural concepts, trade-offs, and recommendations to non-technical audiences
