About the Team

Elsevier’s Academic & Government (A&G) group helps our communities to establish, discover and share knowledge in an effort to advance human progress. We do this by turning scientific discoveries into peer reviewed knowledge, hosting the world’s richest corpus of knowledge, allowing users to unlock insights from content and by measuring the quality and impact of research - turning insights into outcomes. Within the A&G marketing group, the Researcher and Library (R&L) Audience team is responsible for driving awareness and demand for the researcher product portfolio.

About the Role

The Senior Manager, Segment Marketing for the R&L Audience team will lead and implement strategic marketing initiatives to drive engagement, growth, and retention across key academic and research segments. • Creating persona-based value propositions and segment narratives that increase engagement.

  • Developing and execute persona-based programs in support of product launches, portfolio expansions, and thought leadership initiatives; deliverables will include developing program content for global events (e.g., webinars, LinkedIn Live, conferences, workshops)

  • Collaborating with central and regional teams to build and execute marketing plans that align with business priorities and resonate with key segments.

  • Developing sales enablement tools, messaging briefs, and content that supports the buyer journey and aligns with the Challenger Sales methodology.

  • Collaborating with other sales enablement colleagues and product marketers to streamline the process and execution for content development, field feedback, sales readiness, and measurement of messaging and content impact.

  • Partnering with Sales, Product, and sales training teams to deliver training, content, and resources that improve commercial effectiveness.

Qualifications

  • Have 7+ years of progressive experience in B2B marketing, segment or product marketing, or revenue enablement, ideally of SaaS offerings or academic markets

  • Proven track record of crafting and executing go-to-market strategies and messaging that drive measurable results.

  • Have an understanding of marketing and sales alignment, with familiarity in Challenger Sales methodology.

  • Have experience developing enablement content, sales narratives, and digital marketing assets.

  • Have an analytical mindset with experience using metrics to inform strategy and optimize performance.

  • Have excellent project management, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • Have a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field; advanced degree is a plus.
