Role Overview
As an IT Administrator, you’ll oversee daily IT operations, employee onboarding/offboarding, system administration, and cybersecurity compliance. You’ll also help manage critical business, systems and support infrastructure for lab and operational teams.
This is a hands-on role requiring both technical expertise and the ability to document, secure, and streamline IT processes in a regulated healthcare environment.
Responsibilities
1. IT Operations & Employee Support
- Handle onboarding and offboarding processes (laptops, accounts, permissions, hardware setup).
- Provide remote and in-person support for staff across U.S. locations.
- Troubleshoot network, Wi-Fi, and hardware issues.
- Support video conferencing tools, printers, shared office devices, and remote desktop solutions.
2. System Administration
- Manage user accounts, roles, and permissions across company applications (Google
- Workspace, EMR platforms, HIPAA-compliant apps).
- Maintain organized IT equipment inventory, track assets, and manage licensing renewals.
- Assist with facility security systems, including key cards, cameras, VPNs, and vendor coordination.
- Monitor system performance and escalate to vendors/partners when needed.
3. Cybersecurity & Compliance
- Support implementation of IT security policies aligned with HIPAA, SOC-2, and ISO standards.
- Manage antivirus, endpoint protection, and patch updates for all devices.
- Assist in monitoring suspicious activity and ensuring secure access controls.
- Oversee cybersecurity awareness training through Ninjio.
- Support IT documentation of compliance logs (e.g., system access, audits, breach protocols).
- Maintain compliance documentation for HIPAA, and SOC 2.
- Manage antivirus, endpoint protection, and system patching across devices.
4. Network & Infrastructure
- Assist with maintaining LAN/WAN connectivity and VPN configurations.
- Troubleshoot firewalls, routers, and switches (with escalation as needed).
- Support integration of cloud-based systems and SaaS.
5. IT Process & Knowledge Management
- Document common IT issues, solutions, and processes in an internal knowledge base.
- Assist with disaster recovery planning and backup management.
- Coordinate with external vendors and service providers for escalations and upgrades.
Qualifications
- 1+ years of IT support, system administration, or help desk experience preferred.
- Familiarity with PC/Mac, Wi-Fi troubleshooting, and standard office/cloud software.
- Experience managing Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, or similar enterprise environments.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices; healthcare/finance IT experience a plus.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s in IT/CS preferred; certifications (CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Google IT Support) are a plus.
- Strong communication, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently in a fast-paced, distributed team
