What is this role:
We are seeking a Director of Regulatory and Market Access for the Latin America (LATAM) regions. This role will manage a robust portfolio of countries, enhancing E-Space ability to provide services globally amidst an evolving regulatory and political landscape.
What you will do:
- Represent and promote E-Space to national administrations, regulators, legislatures, and regional organizations
- Develop a comprehensive and accurate understanding of market access requirements and timelines and report internally
- Obtain approvals that maximize our ability to operate within countries’ regulatory structures.
- Assist in driving the schedule for initial market access and rapid growth of operations
- Obtain authorization to operate by applying for and obtaining necessary licenses and approvals, including the preparation of applications/information submittals and coordination of necessary internal inputs and reviews
- Work collaboratively across the company with other business units to achieve E-Space objectives
- Ensure on-going compliance with national policies and market access conditions, particularly with respect to use of radio frequency spectrum
- Assist with the key function of license management and timely license fee payments as required to maintain and obtain new authorizations, as required
- Advocate and negotiate to optimize prospective regulatory frameworks and policy environments that align with business objectives
- Maintain and expand relationships with stakeholders in the region
What you will bring:
- Extensive regulatory experience with telecom authorities and in-depth knowledge of the regulatory environment in Latin America and associated countries
- Proficient in gathering, analyzing, and communicating licensing and regulatory information internally
- Highly organized with the ability to manage license applications, renewals, and fee timelines effectively
- Innovative and creative thinker with strong negotiating skills to develop new solutions
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a high degree of diplomacy and cultural awareness
- Proactive, self-confident, and driven
- Excellent teamwork and strong people skills
- Proficient in computer applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Willingness to travel up to 50%, including on short notice
- Fluent in written and spoken English
Bonus points:
- Strong familiarity with regulatory and licensing issues in the satellite industry
- Extensive experience with ITU and spectrum engineering
- Proven track record of working with regulators in Latin America
- Fluency in regional languages
