What we are looking for? We are looking for Digital Healthcare ANPs who to provide virtual consultations via our intuitive platform, delivering high quality care to our patients.

As an ANP, you will confidently assess, diagnose, and treat patients on our digital platform. You will work within your scope of professional practice at all times being responsible and accountable for your decisions and actions in line with organisational policy. This includes active judgements when to seek support from senior colleagues.

The responsibilities below reflect the four pillars of advanced practice and ANPs are expected to work against these standards.

Requirements

Clinical Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for fully assessing a patient through the consultation journey via phone or video methods
  • Use advanced clinical examination skills to assess, diagnose and treat patients remotely
  • Prescribe safely in an effective manner in line with Royal Pharmaceutical society guidance from the NMC (Nursing and Midwifery Council)
  • Use advanced communication skills at all times for effective patient-centred care
  • Use the DCA (Doctor Care Anywhere) secure IT platform for all patient interactions and comply with all consultation policies and protocols
  • Document accurate notes of all consultations and treatments are recorded in the patients' health record
  • Escalate any safeguarding or clinically urgent concerns as per organisational policy to senior colleagues for support

Education and Leadership Responsibilities:

  • Attend DCA training events and fully engage in clinical meetings as required
  • Take responsibility for own learning and performance including participating in clinical supervision and acting as a positive role model
  • Support in the clinical supervision and development of junior colleagues
  • Support in the development and presentation of Learning & Development activities as required
  • Prioritise own workload and ensure effective time-management strategies
  • Act as an ambassador of best practice at all times and in a way that promotes the interests of patients and the organisation
  • Recognise individual requirements for supporting NMC revalidation as per regulatory requirements

Safeguarding

  • To promote a culture of patient – centered and good professional practice relating to the safeguarding of adults, young person’s and children at risk
  • To actively implement safeguarding protocols for children, young persons, and vulnerable adults and to know who to refer to and how to escalate concerns about radicalisation
  • To ensure that provisions in relation to all Mental Health Legislation including the Mental Health Act 2007, Mental Capacity Act 2005), are implemented in accordance with the legislative requirements, Codes of Practice requirements and National and Government Guidance

Clinical Governance Responsibilities:

  • Engage in clinical audits and other quality assurance activities as required
  • Work within the DCA Clinical Governance Framework
  • Contribute as needed to service development and quality improvement initiatives
  • Raise concerns to senior colleagues using incident and feedback mechanisms for appropriate risk management and intervention
  • Participate where required in DCA learning events to share best practice and contribute to learning and development
  • Participate in review and appraisal process with line managers as per DCA requirements

Training / Qualifications

  • Fully qualified Registered Nurse
  • Postgraduate diploma (Level 7) or Masters degree in Advanced Clinical Practice (including Non-Medical Prescribing).
  • Or either RCN Credentialling or HEE accreditation
  • Valid IR(ME)R certificate valid within the last 3 years.

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years experience as Advanced Practitioner including prescribing in Primary Care Setting (ideally general practice) within the last 5 years
  • Experience in women’s health including contraception and HRT
  • Experience in assessing and treating paediatric patients in a primary care setting from 0 years upwards
  • Broad autonomous scope of practice developed in a general practice setting as per the Core Capabilities for Advanced Clinical Practice framework
  • Remote patient assessment and treatment via both phone and video consultations
