Dimensional'sData Distribution team is a strategic partnership between the Technology and Investment Engineering (IE) departments. Our mission is to provideperformanceservices to drive interactive data analysis tools.
We are looking for an experienced engineering leader to manage a pivotal group of engineers within the firm. You will lead a group of data and backend engineersbuildinga modern analytics platform for our clients. This platform will provide critical analytical and account launching/management tools to help our clients manage their businesses.

Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership:Lead, mentor and motivate a team of backend engineers, setting performance goals, fostering a collaborative environment while overseeing functions focused on data engineering and data-intensive calculation services.
Business Partnership: Act as a key liaison between engineering and business stakeholders to translate high-level goals into actionable technical requirements.
End-to-End Execution: Own the full software development lifecycle, ensuring consistent planning, execution, and high-quality delivery of complex, integrated engineering projects. Own project deliverables.Identifyrisks/challenges/dependencies which may cause delays and work collaboratively to design mitigation plans and implement.
Roadmap Management: Develop andmaintainlong-term technical roadmaps aligned with product goals.
Operational Excellence: Identifyresource gaps, process bottlenecks, and technical debt to proactivelyoptimizeteam velocity and quality of output.
Strategic Tradeoffs: Negotiate priorities and navigate competing demands byprovidingdata-driven insights on technical feasibility and business impact.
Communication:Serve as a key communicator across technical and non-technical audiences, ensuring clarity on priorities, trade-offs, and timelines to ensure alignment across the organization.
Resource Management:Allocate work effectively to balance time-to-market with system coverage and stability.
Technical Excellence:Collaborate and contribute to architecture design, incorporating best practices to ensure data-driven,scalableand maintainable code.
Documentation:Document and present technical artifacts to cross-functional teams of stakeholders tomaintaintransparency and knowledge transfer.
Qualifications
10+ years of applicable experience in software engineering
6+ years of experience managing people
Knowledge of the python landscape
Well-versed in pythonic/idiomatic solution design
Strong understanding of software architecture, programming, and development methodologies
Demonstrated ability to lead teams in a fast-paced environment
Experience in high performance and high availability applications includingexpertisein performance optimization and tuning
Experience with automated acceptance testing
Strong understanding of cyber security risks anddemonstratedability to design highly secure applications
Experience working in a dynamic and interactive team environment to build world-class software implementations
Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service
Experienced in presenting to senior leadership on a recurring basis
Experience working with Agile/Scrum methodologies with a software development and integration focus
