Our client in the banking sector is looking for experienced Senior Data Engineers to join a growing technical environment, developing and enhancing modern cloud-based data platforms.
This is a hands-on engineering opportunity where you will be actively involved in writing code, building data pipelines, developing complex ETL/ELT processes and delivering scalable data solutions that support critical business and banking operations.
What you'll be doing
- Design, develop and optimise scalable data pipelines and cloud-based data platforms.
- Build complex ETL/ELT processes using advanced Python and SQL.
- Develop, implement and maintain data engineering solutions on AWS.
- Build and manage data integration, ingestion and processing frameworks.
- Work with large datasets and distributed data processing technologies.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automation and deployment processes.
- Implement data quality, monitoring and performance optimisation practices.
- Collaborate with architects, developers and other technical stakeholders to deliver robust data solutions.
What we're looking for
- Proven experience in a hands-on Data Engineering role.
- Strong practical Python development skills – actively writing and maintaining production code.
- Advanced SQL skills, including complex queries and data transformations.
- Practical experience building and managing data pipelines.
- Hands-on experience with AWS cloud data technologies.
- Experience with ETL/ELT processes and modern data platforms.
- Understanding of CI/CD, automation and software development lifecycle practices.
- Experience working with large-scale data environments and distributed processing.
Advantageous experience
- Exposure to Apache Kafka.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience within banking or financial services environments.
- Exposure to Salesforce Data Cloud (particularly for senior-level candidates).
