Job Overview

Davies US is looking for a Junior Content Writer to produce high-quality content that aligns with the business’ goals while targeting and capturing intended audiences’ interests. Reporting to the Content Manager, you will assist in creating, proofreading, and planning content aimed at enhancing reader engagement, increasing brand visibility, and positioning Davies as a thought leader in the North American insurance market.

To be successful in this role, you need to have a high level of attention to detail and problem-solving skills, capable of working collaboratively and independently with minimal supervision and be proactive, independent, and takes initiative with consistent follow through. You must have a strong writing and basic editing skills, with attention to detail, demonstrate a good understanding of the English language, including basic idioms and expressions and lastly be familiar with Google Docs and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Additionally, you will need to have superb communication skills, verbal and written, conducted in a timely manner, superior time management skills with capability of working with and meeting deadlines and exceptional capability to multi-task and prioritize with excellent organization and documentation skills in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment. This role is a full-time, home-based position.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Assist in creating content for blogs, social media posts, website copy, video scripts, and other marketing materials
  • Support Campaign Managers by providing content for various campaigns
  • Conduct basic research on industry-related topics to support the development of original content
  • Help in proofreading content to ensure error-free and consistent output
  • Learn and apply Davies’ tone of voice and style guidelines in all content
  • Perform basic keyword research and apply SEO principles under supervision
  • Craft engaging headlines and body copy under guidance, targeting specific audiences
  • Suggest new content strategies and ideas based on customer feedback and market trends
  • Collaborate with the design team to enhance content presentation
  • Contribute to the editorial calendar, aligning content with industry events and broader societal trends
  • Assist in content development during the integration of new businesses into Davies

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Experience and Qualifications

Required

  • Have strong writing and basic editing skills, with attention to detail
  • Demonstrate a good understanding of the English language, including basic idioms and expressions
  • Be familiar with Google Docs and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

Preferred

  • Show potential for excellent content creation, backed by samples from college projects, internships, or personal blogs List any specific experience that is preferred
  • Be able to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment, with an emphasis on prioritization and adaptability.
  • Possess basic interpersonal skills for effective communication with team members.
  • Work effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Have an interest in or some knowledge of the insurance market or professional services

Position Type, Work Environment and Physical Demands

This is a home-based, full time, salaried, exempt position that predominantly operates remotely from a professional home-based office environment routinely using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, photocopiers, and scanners and requires prolonged periods of sitting at a desk while working on a computer. While performing the duties of this job, the individual will be required to regularly hear and talk. This is a largely sedentary role requiring the ability to sit at a desk, reach outward, use a phone, have use of fingers to operate office equipment such as a keyboard, mouse, phone, printer, copier, and to reach above the head, bend, or stand, as necessary.
