Job Description:

Datasite is hiring a Junior Cloud Engineer to add to our team in Heredia, Costa Rica.

Who You Are:

You are a recent (or soon to be) college graduate, self-starting passionate technologist who enjoys rolling up their sleeves & getting their hands dirty learning new technologies and systems. You're looking forward to the career ahead you & are excited about the years you'll spend honing the knowledge and skills required to master technology in the Cloud engineering space. This is a hybrid role (100% remote is not available), our employees work on average 2 days per week in our Heredia office.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design, install, test and maintain modern cloud infrastructure for a fast-growing SaaS based company using infrastructure as code-based techniques.

  • Scripting/Application development with an emphasis on infrastructure.

  • Designs compute solutions derived from architecture standards, best practices, and direction from senior staff.

  • Performs advanced configuration & troubleshooting of Cloud based systems.

  • Pair with and perform activities assigned by Senior Cloud staff.

  • Monitors server systems and assists in performing corrective actions.

Qualifications:

  • Technology is one of your passions; technology is woven into your hobbies.

  • 1-2 years hands on experience managing Linux based systems.

  • At least one programing language (Python preferred).

  • Git and software development experience.

  • Good communications skills and customer service attitude; bilingual in English & Spanish.

  • Able to communicate effectively with peer groups.

  • Organization and analysis skills, problem solving ability.

  • Bachelor's or associate degree in IT or related field or equivalent experience

  • Exposure to Agile/Scrum/Kanban process.

  • Familiarity with the best practices in the following topics: Capacity Planning, Performance, Monitoring/Management and Server/Cloud compute Design Architecture.
