Job Description Summary

The Senior Program Manager is accountable for leading complex, cross-functional initiatives that advance organizational priorities. This role requires a highly skilled project leader who can blend analytical rigor with exceptional interpersonal capability—someone who can anticipate organizational dynamics, build trust across stakeholder groups, and maneuver internal politics with professionalism and integrity.

This leader partners with executives, functional teams, and project contributors to ensure clarity of objectives, alignment of expectations, and delivery of measurable outcomes. The Senior Program Manager also mentors other project professionals and promotes a culture of collaboration, transparency, and high performance

Job Description

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Project Leadership & Delivery

  • Build strong partnerships with senior leaders to drive business success and maintain alignment across diverse stakeholder groups.

  • Influence decision-making through clear and compelling communication, insight, and data.

  • Develop and manage comprehensive project plans including scope, goals, deliverables, timelines, financials, and KPIs.

  • Oversee multiple concurrent initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational strategy and business priorities.

  • Drive day-to-day project execution, ensuring milestones, deliverables, and quality standards are consistently met.

  • Facilitate creation and management of project documentation (charters, business cases, PM plans, SOWs, budget reports, training materials, risk logs).

Stakeholder Engagement & Organizational Influence

  • Build strong, trust-based relationships with stakeholders at all organizational levels.

  • Navigate internal politics with discretion—anticipating sensitivities, mediating conflicts, and aligning competing interests.

  • Translate complex issues into clear, actionable communication easily understood by technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Serve as a strategic advisor to leaders by providing meaningful insights, surfacing risks early, and recommending solutions that balance competing priorities.

  • Foster collaboration across business units, promoting relationships, community building, and knowledge sharing.

Risk, Governance & Portfolio Reporting

  • Identify, evaluate, and mitigate project and program risks; implement contingency plans when needed.

  • Conduct regular project reviews and post-implementation evaluations to identify lessons learned and drive continuous improvement.

  • Publish and present status updates, performance metrics, and portfolio-level summaries to leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Aggregate data from multiple projects into a cohesive portfolio view that highlights progress, trends, and strategic implications.

Team Leadership, Coaching & Collaboration

  • Mentor and support Project Managers, Analysts, and cross-functional team members, fostering professional growth and capability development.

  • Promote effective teamwork, clear roles, and a strong sense of shared accountability within project teams.

  • Lead and support organizational change management efforts to ensure successful adoption of project outcomes.

  • Identify opportunities for collaboration, process improvement, and use of business technology solutions to drive efficiency.

  • Demonstrate high emotional intelligence, cultural awareness, and the ability to work effectively across diverse working styles.

  • Act as a connector across business units, promoting partnership and the exchange of knowledge and best practices.

  • Maintain confidentiality, act with integrity, and model the organization’s values in all interactions.

Change Management & Organizational Enablement

  • Support change management planning and execution to ensure successful adoption of project outcomes.

  • Support broader Deployment and Enablement initiatives to advance organizational capabilities.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and leverage business technology solutions to enhance efficiency.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, or a related field (Master’s degree or PMP preferred).

  • 5–7+ years of progressive Project Management experience leading complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives.

  • Proven ability to navigate organizational politics with tact, discretion, and emotional intelligence.

  • Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and stakeholder-management capability.

  • Ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.

  • Demonstrated leadership, coaching, facilitation, and collaboration skills.

  • High degree of organization, attention to detail, accountability, and follow-through.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with care.

  • Customer-service orientation and a continuous-improvement mindset.

The compensation that will be offered to the successful candidate will depend on factors such as whether the position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement, the geographic area in which the work will be performed, market pay rates in that area, and the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
The company will not pay less than minimum wage for this role.
The compensation for the position is: $ 119,000.00 - $140,000.00
