Completes preventative maintenance and/or basic repair activities on engines and related components at the customer site with minimal direction.
We are looking for a talented Field Service Diesel Technician to join our Distribution business in (Elko, NV). will make an impact in the following ways:

- Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop
- Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools
- Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles
- Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies
- Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products
- Maintain own tools
In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:
- Primarily engaged in maintenance or basic repairs/diagnostics
- Requires direct supervision and review of workmanship quality
- Demonstrates an understanding on access to engine repair process information sources.
- Understands after-treatment system and can identify major components and their function at a rudimentary level.
- Has worked on external components on a diesel engine and understands the basic concepts.
- Has some knowledge of engine diagnostic software
- Active daily participation in safety processes
- Thorough documentation of repairs including record unit information and detailed steps as necessary.
- Timely submission of service documentation.
- Frequent communication with customer and supervisor when working remotely.
- Independent management/reconciliation of compony issues credit cards.
- Position subject to alternative work schedule in order to meet the needs of the customer(5/4 rotation) on-call, occasional night shifts)
- Proactive scheduling of PTO/time off.
- Flexibility in short notice scheduling changes including out of town assignments.
- Attention to clean work habits at the end of shift and throughout the shift.
- Complying to federal DOT laws while operating company vehicles - including ELD devices.
- Professionally communicating/representing Cummins to the customer.
- Complying with management directives as needed in support of business operations.
DOT
- A CDL may be required to obtain upon hire
- Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older
- A current valid license is required for this role
- This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations
- This role requires applicant to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical
- 3 years driving experience
- This role is subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) driving regulations including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use
-Federal law requires operators of commercial vehicles to be 21 years of age or older, applicant must be 21 years of age
Education, Licenses, Certifications:
Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred).
Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution.
Locally valid driving permit.
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience:
Minimal level of workshop related experience required.
Basic level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products.
Locally valid driving permit.
