We are looking for a talented SAP Finance - Controlling Principal to join our team specializing in Business Transformation & Digital Technology for Cummins, Inc. in Indianapolis, IN.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Define System Components: Break down the system into components, allocate functions, and establish interfaces between systems and components.
  • Develop Reusable Standards: Create standards, design patterns, and configurations that can be reused for other solutions.
  • Collaborate with Teams: Work with project and product teams to understand their needs and provide appropriate solutions.
  • Conduct Cost/Benefit Analysis: Perform complex analyses to evaluate future state capabilities.
  • Establish Governing Principles: Lead the creation of principles to manage change and guide solution decisions.
  • Audit Solution Design: Ensure solution designs comply with architectural patterns and standards.
  • Monitor Performance: Oversee architecture solution performance and prevent issues when introducing new capabilities.
  • Develop Future State Roadmaps: Collaborate with stakeholders to apply strategy to future state architecture and create roadmaps to achieve it.

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Architecture System Design – Understand and apply the architecture development framework and methodology. Create conceptual, logical, and physical models that accurately represent the system’s architecture.
  • Solution Design - Ensure your designs adhere to industry standards and best practices.Design solutions with built-in instrumentation for monitoring and measurement.Utilize version control, build, and test automation to streamline the development process.
  • Solution Functional Fit Analysis - Break down systems into their component parts to understand how they interact and meet requirements.Leverage tools and work aides to analyze the functional fit of each component.Make sure all components work together seamlessly to meet business, technical, security, governance, and compliance requirements.
  • Project Issue and Risk Management - Create plans to minimize, monitor, and control risks. Use recommended tools to identify, assess, and prioritize risks and issues. Focus on maximizing positive outcomes by effectively managing issues and risks.

Education/Experience

  • College, university, or equivalent degree in relevant technical discipline, or relevant equivalent experience required.
  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
  • Significant experience in a relevant discipline area is required with a demonstrated track record of architecture and design for cloud-based platforms. Knowledge of the latest trends in emerging technologies is highly preferred and includes:
    -Analyzing complex business systems, industry requirements, and governance and creating solution designs from them
    - Proven Architecture and design experience for cloud-based platforms
  • Significant experiences in the following are preferred:
    - Experience with architecting and integrating enterprise systems and data
    - Experience in defining and weighing the trade-offs of different solution options

    - Experience with IoT technology

    - Experience in Agile software development and DevSecOps

Additional Responsibilities:

Required Qualifications:

  • 10-12 years of extensive and proven hands-on configuration and implementation experience in S/4 HANA 2023 or up to 2 prior versions.
  • SAP certification required in SAP S/4HANA for Management Accounting or Financial Accounting with preference to experience in CO module.
  • Working experience with non-SAP systems integrations using MuleSoft or other middleware (e.g., OData, APIs).
  • Experience in industries such as Automotive, Manufacturing, Retail, or Distribution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing, implementing, and optimizing solutions across multiple countries, ensuring the successful delivery of complex, large-scale SAP projects across multiple geographies, with knowledge of localizations.
  • Provide best practice guidance for SAP FICO implementations and optimizations. Lead the design and implementation of SAP FICO solutions with S/4 HANA 2023.
  • Deliver architectural expertise in SAP FICO modules, ensuring seamless integration with other SAP modules (e.g., LE, MM, PP, PS, SD) and non-SAP peripheral systems.
  • Must have demonstrated hands-on configuration experience in designing solutions, creating proof-of-concepts showcasing potential solution options including cost center accounting, internal orders, profitability analysis, and product cost controlling supporting accurate financial reporting and cost management.
  • Highly desirable to have cross module experience and debugging knowledge of workbench objects, to trouble shoot and resolve complex issues or provide direction when customization is needed or justified.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and SI Partner to translate requirements into scalable, efficient SAP solutions by providing best practice guidance for SAP finance and controlling strategies to improve financial performance.
  • Validation of solutions proposed by SI Partner to follow the principle of ‘Adopt vs Adapt’ leveraging SAP out-of-box capabilities, follow Cummins Center of Excellence (CCOE) standards and avoidance or minimization of customizations and bespoke configurations.
  • Drive the full project lifecycle: from blueprinting and design to configuration, testing, and go-live and post provide overarching subject matter expertise to AMS team.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for SAP FICO, leading cross-functional teams collaborating internally with CCOE teams and leaders, along with mentoring business process leaders and business resources new to SAP.
  • Ensure proper integration with other key modules and edge applications such as Basware, High Radius, Blue Yonder, Kinaxis, and Oracle Financial Controlling System within the Cummins ecosystem.
  • Support the global rollout of SAP FICO solutions across multiple countries, ensuring adherence to local legal, fiscal, and business requirements.

Location:

This position is remote and can be based in Indianapolis or Atlanta, with preference to candidates in Eastern or Central time zones. Relocation is not offered.
