Overview

The Product Director will drive strategy for Cotiviti’s Payment Integrity Client platform product roadmap. This individual will have responsibility and leadership for understanding and prioritizing market needs, performing competitive analysis, performing product discovery, supporting design, delivering business cases and leading delivery and commercial product launches for new products and capabilities.

Reporting to the SVP of Enterprise Product, this individual will have ownership and accountability for product vision, features and functions, packaging, and market impact for enhancements to client-facing platform, Payment Clarity, including Program Clarity, Claim Clarity, Policy Clarity and future modules. This includes dashboarding, analytics and reporting capabilities delivered through the platform. They will work closely with development teams to ensure product solutions meet market requirements. The successful candidate will demonstrate a unique blend of leadership, product and market domain expertise, business acumen, creativity, business judgment, entrepreneurial spirit, industry knowledge, and analytical knowledge. This individual will have an understanding of the healthcare system and payer environment and possess a passion for analysis, analytics and defining new solutions.

Responsibilities

  • The Product Management Director will lead a cross-sectional, matrixed team in implementing and overseeing a customer- and sales-driven approach to building and launching new features, capabilities and offerings into the marketplace. Key responsibilities include:
  • Vision: Leverages his/her subject matter expertise to provide input into Cotiviti’s strategic plan for our client-facing platforms; collaborates with executive leadership to develop and track financial and non-financial success measurements. Is an evangelist for the Voice of the Customer in product management.
  • Represent Market Needs: Work with Marketing, Product Strategy and GTM teams to understand market needs for Analytics solutions. Work with internal and external customers to gather requirements that address their market problems and challenges and ensure requirements are well documented in epics and features. Work with engineering teams to ensure that the market and customer needs are fully understood by development stakeholders and final outputs meet customer requirements.
  • Manage and Perform Analysis: Perform detailed product and content analysis to support exploration, evaluation and development of new solutions. Triage requests and distribute across internal analysis resources (Jonathan Edwards’ team, Peter Okwera’s team, etc.) Combining data, operational and technical insights to answer difficult questions to drive product strategy.
  • Define Product Solutions: Conduct product research to further understand the solution profile and market requirements. Develop market and business requirements for acceptance into products, as well as maintaining detailed user personas and scenarios; maintain a groomed backlog and detailed BRDs. Provide solution guidance and support for other departments including but not limited to Engineering, Operations, Technical Writing, IT/Release, Training, Client Services as well as sales support when appropriate. Conceive analytic-driven methods to improve the precision, value or efficiency of our products or processes
  • Product Launch: Support operational and technical teams in delivering targeted outcomes via Agile development process. Ensure new analytics capabilities and solutions meet business and product requirements. Work across the enterprise to coordinate analytics activities and spread knowledge to other teams, including implementations, client services, sales, etc. Provide product input to internal and external communications, including release notes, user guides and marketing material. Author, edit and post relevant product launch documentation in on-line tools to document processes and results of analysis
  • Go to Market: Establishes overall Go-to-Market strategy for all products within the strategic solutions set (DM/CC, COB.) Owns definition of customer experience for End-to-End solutions. Leads completion and upkeep of R2M (Ready to Market) and R2S (Ready to Sell) deliverables and supports GTM training with Marketing.
  • Team leadership: Collaborates with Launch Project Managers to ensure delivery of operational aspects of programs. Evaluates launch programs and assists SVP, Product Management in continuously improving processes for Product Management. Assists BU leaders in defining core processes and staffing needs to support new solutions.
  • Quality: Works closely with technology, operations, and senior leadership to ensure releases are of the highest quality, and that his/her team can demonstrate progress against quality goals through clear metrics.
  • Complete all responsibilities as outlined in the annual performance review and/or goal setting.
  • Complete all special projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, information technology, or equivalent professional experience required; Master of Business Administration degree preferred.
  • Strong understanding of claims data, how data is stored in analytical platforms, and how to use and apply claims data in the validation of payment accuracy concepts and other projects.
  • Must be self-motivated and passionate about creating solutions for diverse and challenging healthcare problems, including the ability to understand data, analytics and user needs across different client types and translate those needs into specific product requirements that will deliver customer value.
  • Demonstrated success defining market strategy and leading product management for successful market-facing products. Pragmatic Marketing or other similar certification strongly desired.
  • Demonstrated success defining product roadmaps, prioritizing features based on market value and leading development and launch of new products and product enhancements.
  • Strong understanding of the tenets of health insurance, the managed care model, Commercial, Medicare & Medicaid rules, industry coding/policy standards, the claim adjudication process, and issues related to fraud waste and abuse; Ability to apply this knowledge to the development & evaluation of new initiatives and lead the team strategy toward best practices. OR, Developing and maintaining and understanding of the basic tenets of retail auditing and our clients to develop and evaluate new initiatives and best practices
  • Experience working in a software development environment; healthcare experience preferred. Agile experience preferred. Experience with software and product development lifecycles.
  • Proactive leader with proven experience in strategic and tactical leadership with the ability to to create momentum for a team with minimal oversight and direction.
  • Applies knowledge, skills, tools and techniques to execute projects effectively and efficiently in alignment with organizational competencies and strategic business goals. Ability to articulate and document a scope, process, accountable owners and project milestones and timelines. Includes summarizing project health and outcomes at any point in the project lifecycle.
  • Strong ability to appropriately summarize and effectively communicate complex concepts & varied data sets to inform stakeholders, gain approval, or prompt actions; Applies to multiple audiences ranging from the analyst to executive level; Includes oral & written communication and multimedia presentation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; experience communicating with individuals of all backgrounds and areas of expertise. Ability to influence other departments to ensure deliverables are accomplished.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 6 years’ experience, with increasing levels of responsibility and oversight, managing Product Management, Operations, or Professional Services teams.
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience preferred in healthcare industry with previous leadership experience in appropriate domain, strong personnel management, presentation skills, customer (internal/external) problem diagnostics and solution design.
  • 3+ years’ experience with healthcare data and analysis including business intelligence (data visualization and dashboarding, Tableau, etc)
  • Experience working in a software development environment; healthcare experience preferred. Agile experience preferred.
  • Experience with software and product development lifecycles.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point)
  • Strong analytical and problem solving ability
  • Professional with ability to properly handle confidential information
  • Ability to work well independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Willingness to travel up to 15-20% of the time
  • Must be able to sit and use a computer keyboard for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs without assistance
  • After hours / weekend work required where necessary for major deliverables / deadlines (not consistent)
  • Must have flexibility and willingness to participate in the work processes of an international organization, including conference calls scheduled to accommodate global time zones.

Base compensation ranges from $135,000.00 to $160,000.00 per year. Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, education, skills, certifications, and other business needs. This role is eligible for discretionary bonus consideration.
