Overview
Edifecs/Cotiviti is seeking an experienced Accessibility Specialist to be part of the Experience Design team. The Accessibility Specialist will work as part of a small team on the next generation of products, tools, and platforms for IT Healthcare products. The ideal candidate will posses a blend of technical, analytical, and interpersonal skills to ensure Edifecs/Cotiviti applications and user assistance resources comply with web accessibility standards and regulations. This role requires an excellent communicator who is well-versed in explaining and implementing accessibility and disability standards, regulations, and best practices including WCAG 2.2, Section 508, WAI-ARIA, and VPAT repoprting.
Responsibilities
- Methodically assess and report on accessibility of Edifecs/Cotiviti applications and user assistance resources.
- Work with QA team to ensure to integrate accessibility-related assessments into their practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accessibility improvements are correctly implemented.
- Monitor the accessibility status across Edifecs/Cotiviti product and publish reports periodically.
- Stay abreast of accessibility trends and standards, ensuring alignment with current best practices.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s or higher degree in the field of Computer Science/ User Experience Design (human-computer interaction/interaction design) or in a related field. Accessibility-related certification is preferred.
- 3-5 years of industry experience in quality assurance related to accessibility assessment for software products.
- Demonstrable knowledge of WCAG 2.2, Section 508, WAI-ARIA standards/guidelines/regulations.
- Familiarity with accessibility testing tools (e.g., Axe, WAVE, JAWS, NVDA).
- Hand-on experience performing accessibility assessments, documenting results, and following through to ensure adherence.
- Solid understanding of inclusive design principles and an obsessive eye for visual and interaction details.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal. Must be willing and able to proactively reach out to stakeholders and team members for collaboration and support.
