Job Title:  Head of Compliance & Quality
Location: Remote (US)
Work Environment: Remote with HIPAA-compliant home office setup

Why Choose Us?
Cosán Group is a leading healthcare services organization committed to delivering exceptional preventive care for at-risk older adults. We’re seeking an experienced compliance leader to own the design, execution, and continuous improvement of our compliance model across all CCM and care management services. Join a mission-driven team where you’ll have the opportunity to build systems that enable compliant care at scale and directly impact how we deliver on our promise to patients and partners.

What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for a strategic, hands-on Head of Compliance & Quality to ensure our policies, workflows, documentation, and billing practices meet CMS requirements in real time and at scale. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in healthcare compliance and care management programs, with a proven ability to build simple, effective systems in fast-moving environments. This is an operational leadership role where success is measured by how well compliance is embedded into daily workflows—not by policy documentation alone. You identify risk early, drive corrective action quickly, and partner cross-functionally to align compliance with execution.

What You’ll Do
Operational Compliance Ownership
  • Own compliance across all CCM workflows including time tracking, documentation, and billing alignment.
  • Ensure care delivery meets CMS requirements for CCM, RPM, and related programs.
  • Define and enforce guardrails for clinical and non-clinical staff.
Policy Development & Governance
  • Own development and ongoing maintenance of compliance policies aligned to CMS requirements.
  • Ensure policies are clear, actionable, and tied to how work is performed.
  • Translate policies into workflows, training, and system requirements.
Workflow Design & Standardization
  • Partner with Clinical Operations to design compliant, scalable workflows.
  • Eliminate ambiguity in documentation and care delivery processes.
  • Ensure consistency across teams.
Monitoring & Risk Management
  • Define compliance KPIs and monitoring dashboards.
  • Establish real-time visibility into performance and risk.
  • Identify issues early and drive corrective action.
Audit Readiness & Quality Assurance
  • Build and lead a continuous audit function.
  • Ensure documentation supports all billed services.
  • Maintain audit readiness at all times.
Cross-Functional Partnership & Training
  • Partner with Clinical Operations to align compliance with execution.
  • Work with Engineering to embed compliance into systems and tools.
  • Develop practical training for staff on compliant care delivery.
  • Define scope of practice guardrails and escalation paths.
Regulatory Oversight
  • Maintain knowledge of CMS, OIG, HIPAA, and relevant regulations.
  • Translate regulatory changes into operational updates.
  • Support audits and external inquiries.

Required Qualifications
  • 7–12+ years in healthcare compliance, clinical operations, or care management.
  • Direct experience with CCM, RPM, or Medicare programs.
  • Experience in tech-enabled healthcare services.
  • Strong understanding of documentation, billing, and audit requirements.
  • Proven ability to build processes in a fast-moving environment.
  • Strategic thinking, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) or similar credential.
  • Clinical background (e.g., RN, LPN, or other licensed healthcare professional).
  • Familiarity with compliance risks in virtual or remote care delivery models.
  • Experience supporting compliance in value-based care, care coordination, or health tech organizations.
  • Experience with compliance monitoring tools or audit management systems.

Compensation and Benefits
  • Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
  • Paid Time Off + Company Holidays.
  • Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, and Disability Insurance.
  • 401(k) retirement plan.
  • Optional Short-Term, Long-Term Disability, Critical Illness & Accident coverage.
  • Employee Assistance Program including mental health resources.
  • Company-provided equipment (laptop, monitor, headset, etc.).

Work Environment & Requirements
  • 100% Remote with a Monday–Friday schedule.
  • Occasional travel as needed for audits, investigations, or company initiatives.
  • High-speed broadband internet and private home workspace required
    • Candidates must complete a company-provided internet speed test to confirm a minimum of 50 Mbps download / 5 Mbps upload.

The story of Cosan S.A. is a remarkable journey of transformation, from a single sugarcane mill in the Brazilian countryside to a global energy and infrastructure giant. Its origins trace back to 1936, when the Ometto family acquired the Costa Pinto sugarcane mill in Piracicaba, São Paulo. For decades, the company focused on its agricultural roots, cultivating sugarcane and producing sugar and ethanol. This foundational period established a deep understanding of the land and the energy potential held within Brazil's natural resources. The second half of the 20th century marked a period of significant expansion. Starting in the 1980s, under the visionary leadership of Rubens Ometto Silveira Mello, the company embarked on an aggressive growth strategy, acquiring numerous mills across São Paulo state. This strategic consolidation rapidly transformed the family-owned enterprise into one of the largest sugar and ethanol producers in the world, a testament to its operational efficiency and ambitious vision.

The new millennium heralded a new era of diversification and strategic evolution for Cosan. Recognizing the interconnectedness of energy and logistics, the company began to look beyond the sugarcane fields. A pivotal moment came with the creation of Raízen, a groundbreaking joint venture with Royal Dutch Shell. This partnership combined Cosan's expertise in bioenergy production with Shell's global distribution network, creating an integrated energy powerhouse involved in everything from ethanol production to fuel distribution through a vast network of service stations. But the ambition didn't stop there. Cosan strategically expanded into Brazil's critical infrastructure, acquiring a controlling stake in Comgás, the country's largest natural gas distributor, and forming Rumo, which would become the nation's dominant rail logistics operator, essential for transporting agricultural commodities. Through its subsidiary Moove, it also established a global presence in the lubricants market. Today, Cosan stands as a diversified holding company, a portfolio of leading businesses in vital sectors, continually investing in assets that are fundamental to societal development and a sustainable future.
