Stay safe on Himalayas

Never send money to companies. Jobs on Himalayas will never require payment from applicants.

Coder Trove is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join a long-term, full-time engagement and embed directly within an international client's engineering team. You will work in the client's repositories, sprints, stand-ups, and review process to add hands-on delivery capacity across two Azure-hosted products in the care and patient transport sectors.

The environment is built primarily with TypeScript and Python, uses Microsoft Foundry, and runs entirely on Microsoft Azure. This is an execution-focused role: product direction, business requirements, and architecture are owned by the client's CTO and product team. You will turn defined goals and designs into reliable production software while constructively challenging technical approaches when needed.

Key Responsibilities

Software Development & Delivery

  • Design, build, test, and maintain production features and services using TypeScript and Python.

  • Deliver work within established repositories, sprint ceremonies, coding standards, and peer-review processes.

  • Translate approved architecture and product requirements into clean, maintainable, well-documented code.

  • Provide clear daily progress updates, surface risks early, and deliver consistently against agreed outcomes.

Azure, Architecture & Platform Engineering

  • Build and operate cloud-native solutions on Microsoft Azure; contribute to security, reliability, scalability, and cost-aware engineering decisions.

  • Support identity, authorisation, client configuration, multi-tenancy, and tenant-isolation capabilities.

  • Evolve live systems through incremental migration patterns, contract testing, dual running, safe cutover, and rollback planning.

  • Contribute to CI/CD, automated testing, monitoring, observability, error handling, and production support readiness.

Integrations & Intelligent Systems

  • Design and implement robust integrations with third-party SaaS platforms and transport-service APIs.

  • Build resilient API workflows with appropriate validation, retry handling, auditability, and operational visibility.

  • Contribute to solutions using Microsoft Foundry and, where relevant, production-grade Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers.

  • Where assigned, work on scheduling and optimisation features involving real-world constraints, forecasting, and operator review workflows.

Initial Product Focus

  • Operational workforce scheduling: real-time schedule recovery, medium-term optimisation, and extraction of shared identity and client services from a live platform.

  • Non-emergency patient transport: first-customer launch, third-party integrations, production readiness, and evolution toward a multi-tenant architecture.

  • Cross-product integrations: scalable integration services and potential MCP server delivery as scope is defined.

Required Skills & Experience

Technical Skills

  • Strong commercial software engineering experience with both Python and TypeScript.

  • Deep hands-on Microsoft Azure experience in designing, building, deploying, and supporting production solutions.

  • Experience building APIs, distributed services, integrations, and cloud-native applications.

  • Strong understanding of automated testing, CI/CD, code review, observability, error handling, and secure engineering practices.

  • Experience working with modern identity and access-management patterns.

  • Ability to understand established architecture quickly and contribute effectively in an existing codebase.

Experience & Working Style

  • Typically 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with evidence of senior-level ownership and delivery.

  • Proven success delivering production software within cross-functional Agile teams.

  • Comfortable embedding into a client's team and working directly with senior technical leadership.

  • Self-directed, pragmatic, and delivery-focused, with the judgment to challenge an approach constructively when necessary.

  • Strong written and spoken English for daily stand-ups, technical discussions, and code reviews.

  • Able to maintain reliable daily overlap with the international client during Vietnam working hours.

Desirable

  • Experience with Microsoft Foundry or production AI-enabled applications.

  • Experience with constraint solving, optimisation, scheduling algorithms, or demand forecasting.

  • Hands-on experience extracting shared services from a live system using strangler-pattern migration, dual running, and contract testing.

  • Experience designing multi-tenant SaaS platforms, tenant isolation, per-tenant configuration, and low-touch onboarding.

  • Production experience building MCP servers.

  • Experience in healthcare, care workforce scheduling, transport, or another operationally complex domain.

  • Experience collaborating with Australian, European, or other international product teams.

View company profile

At Coder Trove, we believe enterprise software is built by teams that take ownership end to end. Since 2010, we have been designing and building the systems businesses run on and the products companies sell. Our engineers work across the full stack, from business platforms to custom software, with a culture that rewards depth over breadth and shipping over talking.

We are organised into six practices: Microsoft Dynamics 365, Power Platform, Azure and Cloud, Cyber Security, AI and Data, and Custom Software. This structure means we hold the whole estate rather than handing the hard parts to someone else. Integration, data, security and the software around the edges arrive together, and we are set up to handle them.

Delivery runs out of Sydney, supported by a dedicated offshore centre in Vietnam under our Assemble, Operate and Transition model. We also deliver white label behind consulting partners who want their clients to see their brand, not ours. Engineers who join us work on real problems with real stakes, ship to production regularly, and grow by taking on harder problems.
