Base salary: £54,000 plus variable incentive bonus

Purpose
Climate Bonds has a set of compelling services that have been well received by clients, but too few are aware of them. The organisation needs a driven sales manager to build an ambitious sales team to go out and present these services, our sustainable bonds databases, sponsored research, and events, in particular, to financial institutions and other key debt market participants. This is a high impact role where our salespeople engage with the world’s leaders in sustainable finance and our earnings go directly to support our NGO in its important mission. .
Duties and responsibilities
- Create and implement a sales strategy for your team, and work with your team to build their strategies for their markets, to achieve targets and execute on strategic growth initiatives.
- Drive new sales through direct client engagement, including identifying new prospects, qualifying, and closing sales, and coach your team to do the same.
- Act as a trusted advisor to institutional investors, banks and other clients on Responsible Investment strategies and incorporate our products and services, and coach your team so that they develop such relationships and knowledge.
- Collaborate with Customer Success, to identify opportunities to cross and upsell with existing accounts and work to improve the cooperation and outcomes between the activities of both teams.
- For you and your team, maintain high levels of sales activity, including in-person and virtual meetings, prospecting online, and through calls.
- Take responsibility for the accuracy and reliability of data for your team in CRM so that it presents the current state of upcoming opportunities and those sold. Maintain accurate records regarding account interactions, client conversations, finalised contracts.
- Work seamlessly with other departments (Client Success, Research, Product Management, Legal, Billing) to ensure that all client requests and inquiries are managed appropriately and to assure the best possible customer experience for your clients.
- Proactively solicit client feedback regarding new initiatives and future product development while also providing feedback from clients to internal partners.
- Drive new business initiatives with targeted campaigns to your client base in partnership with other client facing teams and Marketing.
- Care for your team and assure that they have the support to be successful in their roles and to develop to take on more responsibility and to be more productive. Be a proactive manager within a larger team structure and work to resolve cross-team concerns.
Due to the location of our client base, we are looking for candidates who are based in the UK. We are flexible in terms of location as we work fully remotely.
Requirements
- Previous people management experience
- Proven B2B sales experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities in English and the ability to deliver professional and persuasive presentations and build long-term client relationships.
- Strong client servicing, consultative sales, and overall strong commercial skills.
- Genuine interest in sustainable investing
