Objective:
Transform business requirements into robust, maintainable backend services, aligned with architecture standards and Agile delivery processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop clean, well‑documented microservices and APIs using Java 21 and Spring Boot, documenting interfaces with OpenAPI/Swagger
- Follow design patterns, architecture guidelines, and best practices, leveraging Domain‑Driven Design (bounded contexts, aggregates) and event‑storming
- Write unit and integration tests; troubleshoot and resolve issues proactively
- Conduct and participate in code reviews to ensure consistency, readability, and knowledge sharing
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams on shared repositories and integration points
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines using Docker, Helm, Tekton/Jenkins, and ArgoCD to automate builds and deployments
- Integrate messaging flows with RabbitMQ, Kafka, and Google Pub/Sub
- Instrument services for observability (metrics, tracing, health checks) and drive production readiness
- Ensure security and performance: Apply OAuth2/JWT, OWASP Top 10 mitigations, data encryption, and compliance; profile and optimize service performance (JFR, async I/O), caching strategies, and capacity planning
- Work with relational and distributed datastore (PostgreSQL, Redis, BigTable, Spanner)
- Participate in estimates, documentation, and potentially on-call rotations.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience with Java 21 and Spring Boot in production environments.
- Solid understanding of messaging patterns using RabbitMQ, Kafka, or Pub/Sub.
- Proficient in SQL databases (PostgreSQL) and distributed caching (Redis).
- Familiarity with GCP-native services (e.g., GKE, CloudSQL, BigQuery, Spanner).
- Experience with containerisation and DevOps tooling (Docker, Jenkins, ArgoCD, Helm).
Soft Skills:
- Proactive ownership of tasks and continuous improvement mindset.
- Strong communication across technical and non-technical audiences.
- Comfortable with context switching and balancing priorities.
- Collaborative, inclusive team player who values shared success.
- Ability to remain adaptable under ambiguity and shifting requirements.
Nice-to-have Skills:
- Hands-on experience with Tekton pipelines and GitOps workflows.
- Knowledge of observability tooling and on-call best practices.
- Exposure to Nginx, Apigee, and modern service ingress patterns.
- Background in prototyping or integrating AI-driven automation.
