Job Summary:

The Intelligent Automation Developer III is responsible for creating, designing, developing, and implementing Intelligent Process Automation solutions based on client requirements and in accordance with standard automation tool design principles and conventions. This position leverages robotic process automation (RPA) tools such as Microsoft Power Automate and UiPath, or both, to streamline business processes, reduce manual workload, and achieve measurable business improvements.

Essential Functions:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas where RPA tools and artificial intelligence/machine learning (AI/ML) and intelligent automation can be applied to streamline processes, reduce manual efforts, and deliver tangible business benefits
  • Work closely with business stakeholders to gather and define requirements for AI/ML and intelligent automation projects; translate business needs into technical specifications.
  • Analyze and preprocess data to ensure its quality, relevance, and suitability for AI/ML model development; collaborate with data engineers to establish data pipelines and data governance.
  • Design, develop, and deploy machine learning models and algorithms to solve business challenges which may involve selecting appropriate algorithms, feature engineering, model training, and optimization.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process automation using technologies like robotic process automation (RPA) tools and intelligent process automation (IPA); create and maintain automation workflows.
  • Monitor the performance of deployed AI/ML models and automation solutions; continuously assess their accuracy, efficiency, and effectiveness, and iterate on improvements as necessary.
  • Collaborate with IT, data science, and business teams to ensure seamless integration of AI/ML and automation solutions into existing systems and workflows.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of models, algorithms, processes, and automation workflows; ensure knowledge sharing across teams.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in AI/ML and automation technologies; proactively explore new tools, frameworks, and methodologies to enhance the organization's capabilities.
  • Provide training and support to end-users who interact with AI/ML models or automated systems; address queries and troubleshoot issues as needed.
  • Design process workflow using RPA tools including building, testing and implementing quality RPA solutions.
  • Analyze and amend software errors in a timely and accurate fashion and provide status reports where required.
  • Mentor other developers, analysts, and designers in conceptualizing and developing new software programs and applications.
  • Plan phases of the software development life cycle (SDLC) for a variety of projects.
  • Assist in the preparation and documentation of software requirements and specifications.
  • Research and document requirements of software users.
  • Assist and contribute to the Architectural Council on all software solutions designed or purchased at CareSource.
  • Clarify and drive team goals on a technical level making sure that the solutions proposed and designed are in line with the department and CareSource vision.
  • Conduct research on emerging application development software products, languages, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts.
  • Recommend, schedule, and perform software improvements and upgrades.
  • Assist the Architectural Council with technical knowledge regarding emerging technologies to help drive strategy.
  • Assist management with resource and release planning.
  • Consistently write, translate, and code software programs and applications according to specifications.
  • Define architecture and design for enterprise applications.
  • Administer critical analysis of test results and deliver solutions to problem areas.
  • Lead projects from a development standpoint and coordinate activities with the developer teams as needed.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of user manuals and guidelines.
  • Assist in software deployment as required based on build specification.
  • Liaise with network administrators, systems analysts, and software engineers to assist in resolving problems with software products or company software systems.
  • Perform technical code reviews of peers to ensure proper coding methodology is being adhered to.
  • Perform any other job related duties as requested.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in the field of computer science or software engineering required
  • Equivalent years of relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu of required education
  • Five (5) years of professional software development experience required
  • Three (3) years of experience specialized in Robotic Process Automation (RPA), Intelligent Process Automation (IPA), and Agentic AI automation required
  • Experience in end-to-end development of business processes using Microsoft Power Platform and/or UiPath Robotic Process Automation is required
  • AI/ML/Generative AI experience is required

Competencies, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of RPA tools and design principles, governance, and exception handling
  • Experience working with enterprise application Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge in web service development.
  • Strong relational database experience including tuning, stored procedure development and use of reporting services in a Microsoft environment
  • Facets Extension development or experience developing applications in the healthcare sector preferred
  • Experience developing automation applications in the healthcare sector is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with integrated development environments, including SVN, Microsoft Visual Studio, and Team Foundation Server.
  • Application development in a healthcare or payer-related field preferred
  • Extensive experience with Windows operating systems
  • Extensive experience with Windows SQL Server database
  • Hands-on software troubleshooting experience
  • Knowledge of data privacy practices and applicable laws.
  • Familiarity with Process Design Document (PDD) and iterative software development methodologies.
  • Adaptable and flexible in learning and applying new technologies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to conduct research into software-related issues and products.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective prioritization and task execution in high-pressure environments.

Licensure and Certification:

  • Microsoft certifications such as Power Platform Developer Associate or UiPath RPA Developer Associate strongly preferred
  • Certifications in technical tools and/or other programming languages (MCSD, Java, Onbase, Tibco, SAP, etc.) preferred

Working Conditions:

  • General office environment; may be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to travel as required by the needs of the department.

Compensation Range:

$81,400.00 - $130,200.00

CareSource takes into consideration a combination of a candidate’s education, training, and experience as well as the position’s scope and complexity, the discretion and latitude required for the role, and other external and internal data when establishing a salary level. In addition to base compensation, you may qualify for a bonus tied to company and individual performance.
