Website Designer /Developer

We are seeking a motivated and highly creative individual with a background in website design and development to become an integral part of our remote team. We are a consultancy specializing in content and digital communications, including digital strategy, website development, content development, and social media management.

We build partnerships with and help small businesses develop and maintain their digital platforms. As we continue to strengthen its growing brand and team, we need your expertise to expand our services, deliver the best products, and provide customers with the best experience.

Job Description

Are you able to produce WOW websites - FAST? By combining blocks with creative flare to capture the attention of a target audience and entice them to take action?
You will primarily use the WordPress block framework, combine branding and content with your creativity to apply our style, and produce websites that speak to humans, match user tasks, and make people go WOW.

How your day will look like:

• Your daily mission will be to help scale and grow small business clients from across many industries and increase our brand impact.

• You will own the development of individual websites in WordPress and Shopify, landing pages, marketing collateral, and social media materials.

• You will collaborate with the rest of the team, working closely with our Ux Designer and Content Marketing Specialist.

• You will help maintain our full portfolio of websites.

Goals of the position:

• In a nutshell: your mission (goal is too loose) is to increase conversions for our clients via their websites.

• To do that, you must understand the Customer Journey and how Design and Functionality impact that.

• You will constantly research and define new ways of expression.

• You must interpret performance data and craft and build sites accordingly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in: a creative/design/marketing/journalism or a related technical field.

• Demonstrable experience working with a team.

• An interest in small businesses, their operations, and their cultural and societal mindset.

• Creativity in the online space.

• Unparalleled problem-solving skills.

• Comfortable with best practices concerning web development, SEO, content marketing, brand marketing/strategy, social media, and user experience.

• Certifications (a major plus but not required).

• Comfortable working in a fully remote work environment (you must demonstrate experience in working remotely). Working remotely is extremely hard if you are not self-motivated and disciplined!

• Extreme attention to detail in content creation and editing.

Skillsets

We are seeking people who are creative and driven but also empathetic to clients and teammates. In addition, you must be proactive, ready to take the lead on projects and campaigns and be able to pivot strategies at a moment’s notice.
Interested candidates should enjoy working collaboratively with an integrated team. As a marketing organization, applicants need to be comfortable with online branding strategies, crafting and shaping content for digital spaces, staying current with market trends, and data measurement and analysis for social media.
Knowledge of Information Architecture and SEO is vital, and Universal Design is preferred.

Requirements:

• You will have at least six years of website design and development.

• You have to love building and engaging humans through visual expression.

• You are creative in your thinking, blending research, data, and your style to produce websites that perform.

• You are skilled at giving and taking constructive feedback.

• You are comfortable taking the lead and collaborating with the team to define goals and strategies and backing up your work using data and insights.

• You are hungry to be the best, working with the best.

• Consumer Behavior & Basic Human Psychology: Words can be powerful; having an understanding of consumer behavior and basic human psychology will make it easier to find the winning recipe for site creation that strikes a chord and engages with the buyer persona.

• Ability to adapt and learn very fast; we are a young, dynamic team in a growing business.

Web: HTML, CSS, PHP, Blocks, plus the usual tools.
Frameworks: Kadence WP, Blocks (not Builders).

CMS: WordPress, Shopify, Typeform.

SEO: SemRush, Screaming Frog, RankMath, BrightLocal, SurferSEO, Ahrefs.
Project Management: JIRA, Harvest, MarketPlan.io.
Design: Sketch, Miro, Canva, Figma

Collaboration: Slack, Zoom, Loom.
