Role Name: Cultural Events Data Specialist

Schedule:

  • 20 hours/week

  • Flexible hours

Client Timezone: London (UK)

Join an exciting new venture bringing London's vibrant cultural scene together in one comprehensive digital platform. As a Research Assistant, you'll play a key role in building and maintaining an essential resource that helps people discover and engage with London's rich array of theatrical performances, concerts, exhibitions and cultural events. This flexible, remote position offers an opportunity to immerse yourself in London's cultural landscape while contributing to a groundbreaking platform that will serve as the city's premier events guide. The role offers an excellent work-life balance with flexible hours and the satisfaction of helping create a valuable community resource.

Scope:

  • 4 hours per day, 5 days per week

  • Flexible working hours

  • Remote work arrangement

  • Initial focus on approximately 200 venues

  • 3-6 month event calendar maintenance

  • Weekly meetings for feedback and guidance

  • Potential to expand into a larger role or team as the platform grows


Responsibilities
:

  • Gather and compile cultural event information from venue websites through web scraping and manual data collection

  • Enter event details into a shared online database including dates, times, venues, ticket prices, and performance details

  • Organize and standardize event information across multiple venues and event types

  • Monitor venue websites for updates and new event announcements

  • Flag additional relevant information for editorial review

  • Participate in weekly check-ins to review work and receive feedback

  • Maintain data accuracy and consistency across all entries



Requirements

  • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy

  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively

  • Basic understanding of web navigation and data collection

  • Good written English language skills

  • Reliable internet connection

  • Comfort with remote work and online collaboration tools

  • Interest in London's cultural scene (preferred)

  • Experience with data entry or content management systems (preferred)
