Brown and Caldwell (BC), a leading Environmental Engineering and Consulting company, is currently seeking a Senior Contracts and Procurement Specialist to lead and oversee the procurement and vendor management process for information systems, services and software contracts. This position requires extensive experience in contract negotiation, vendor management, and strategic sourcing. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the organization’s technology needs are met efficiently and cost-effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute procurement strategies for information systems, services and software, considering long-term organizational goals.
- Lead complex contract negotiations with suppliers, ensuring favorable terms and risk mitigation.
- Manage the procurement process, including RFx development/management, NDAs, Cyber Security compliance, agreement negotiation/execution, and PO issuance/management.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, engineering, legal, and finance, to assess software requirements and align procurement activities.
- Evaluate vendor performance and manage relationships to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
- Oversee the entire contract lifecycle, from initiation through to renewal or termination.
- Liaise with legal teams to mitigate risks and ensure contractual obligations are met.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures in all contracts and procurement activities.
- Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to information systems and software procurement.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior procurement staff.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key vendors and industry partners.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Law, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in contracts and procurement, with a minimum of at least 5 years experience with information systems, services and software contracts.
- In-depth knowledge of contract law, procurement procedures, and IT industry standards.
- Proven track record of successful contract negotiations and vendor management.
- Experience with complex software licensing models and pricing structures.
- Proficiency in contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong negotiation, communication and leadership abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Certification in procurement or contract management (e.g., CPM, CIPS, NCMA) is highly desirable.
Salary Range: The anticipated starting pay range for this position is based on the employee’s primary work location and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education. These ranges may be modified in the future.
Location A: $115,000- $156,000
Location B: $126,000 - $172,000
Location C: $138,000- $188,000
