We are hiring a Software Engineers to support our team that is building high performing software applications for United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). Our team is heavily involved in advancing digital transformation efforts at USCIS, where we build cutting-edge innovative solutions that are contributing to the agency's modernization using DevSecOps tools and technologies. Our work is instrumental in helping USCIS streamline immigration processes, improve customer service, and maintain the integrity of the immigration system through state-of-the-art software solutions. Our team embraces an Agile methodology with an emphasis on automation, continuous integration and continuous delivery. An ideal candidate will have a high degree of initiative, passion for innovation, a solid understanding of software engineering, and a willingness to work in a highly collaborative Agile and DevOps culture. This is a remote position.
In this position, you can expect to:
- Supporting the design and development of secure microservices
- Refactor legacy applications into cloud native applications
- Write high quality, defect-free, secure, extensible, and reusable code in languages such as Java and React.
- Protect your code with automated tests using tools such as Selenium grid, groovy, Karma, Jasmine + more
- Support AWS Cloud infrastructure automation with multiple tools including Gradle, Chef, Nexus, Knife, Docker and monitoring tools such as Splunk, New Relic and Cloudwatch
- Work within an Agile methodology with a continued focus on automation, continuous integration, and delivery
- Utilize open-source tools like Docker, Gradle, Kubernetes, Grafana, Maven, Jenkins, Java, and Git
- Contribute to eliminating technical debt
Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
- Minimum 2-years of software engineering experience
- Experience with Java and React is a major plus
- Experience with continuous delivery and continuous integration techniques
- Experience with test-driven development and automated testing practices
- Experience designing and building cloud native applications a major plus
- US Citizenship is required due to Government client requirements
- Exceptional communication skills and desire to work in a ‘badgeless” collaborative team environment consisting of Government clients, other Contractors, and Stakeholders
- Strong desire to work in team environment and learn new skills
- B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent is highly preferred
