Provides support and service for the Investment Operations function of BMO’s business stakeholders and customers. Executes and delivers on Investment product and service processes, ensuring adherence to financial and regulatory controls and operational guidelines. The role also involves monitoring the helpdesk inbox, assisting in resolving day-to-day operational issues for internal teams and branches, and supporting overall business efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides advice and guidance to assigned business groups on implementing solutions.
  • Supports the execution of strategic initiatives in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Monitors the helpdesk inbox, troubleshoots operational issues, and collaborates with relevant teams to ensure timely resolution.
  • Communicates with internal business partners and external customers in response to standard and non-standard inquiries.
  • Monitors and tracks performance, addressing any issues proactively.
  • Breaks down strategic problems and analyzes data to provide insights and recommendations.
  • Gathers and formats data into regular and ad-hoc reports and dashboards.
  • Supports change management initiatives, focusing on execution and sustainment activities.
  • Executes work to deliver timely, accurate, and efficient service.
  • Resolves standard and relatively straightforward issues, escalating complex cases as needed.
  • Provides input and analysis into the continuous improvement of business processes and procedures.
  • Participates in the planning, testing, and implementation of projects and new/revised products, services, or processes.
  • Position may require occasional work (Month End/Quarter End) outside regular business hours including evenings, weekends, or holidays, depending on project deadlines, workload, and urgent needs.
  • Provides accurate and timely processing of transactions while ensuring compliance with regulatory and risk controls.
  • Collaborates in the development and implementation of new processes and improvements to existing workflows.
  • Supports the development of tools and training materials focused on business results.
  • Develops and maintains effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to fulfill service delivery expectations.

Qualifications:

  • 3 - 5 years of experience in Investment Operations, specializing in reconciliations, escalations, and process optimization.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with senior management, including Managing Directors and Heads of Operations, to drive operational efficiency and resolve client issues.
  • Expertise in reconciliations, with a track record of significantly reducing reconciliation volumes through continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Experience with Fundserv and Global Plus systems is an asset.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze complex data, identify process gaps, and implement control enhancements.
  • Hands-on experience in risk and regulatory compliance, including developing and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to strengthen governance.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data analysis, automation), Word, and PowerPoint (presentations, reporting).
  • Skilled in mentoring and training colleagues, fostering professional development, and enhancing team performance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, adept at engaging with internal and external stakeholders, preparing reports, and delivering presentations.
  • Strong problem-solving ability, with experience in process automation, workflow enhancements, and operational streamlining.
  • Ability to monitor helpdesk inquiries, troubleshoot issues efficiently, and support frontline teams in resolving day-to-day operational challenges.
  • Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational skills, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance in all tasks.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and optimize workflows, contributing to overall business efficiency.

Salary:

$44,500.00 - $82,500.00

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.

BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
