Associate 3D Artist

Your Job

We are looking for a creative individual to join the Farmerama Team as a 3D artist. The responsibilities of the 3D artist include creating 3D models of characters and game assets and managing multiple tasks while adhering to deadlines.

We need a detail-oriented, flexible, good team player. Ultimately, a 3D artist is creative and artistic with a strong working knowledge of color, texture, and light as well as industry-standard software.

Responsibilities

- Creating 3D sculpts and assets to meet artistic standards and style of the game.
- Using 3D modeling, texture, mapping, and other techniques to create graphics, visual effects, and animations.
- Rigging and animating your created assets, or properly setting them up to be animated by a different artist.
- Attending meetings to discuss ongoing and upcoming tasks, as well as brainstormings and kickoffs.
- Understanding the project requirements and conceptualizing creative ideas.
- Receiving feedback from the Art Lead and adjust your creations based on the comments received.
- Reviewing 3D assets and rigs from the Outsourcing Team and recommending improvements.
- Troubleshooting any problems that arise during work on a project.
- Awareness of current trends in 3D Art across the games industry.
- Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal - the need to keep people in the loop is essential.
- Deep familiarity with industry art pipelines - understanding common problems and solutions for 3D asset creation and flow in mobile games.

Requirements

- Certificate, associate's degree, or bachelor's degree in graphic design or a related field.
- A strong portfolio of previous 3D work and completed projects with a lean toward the casual and cartoon aesthetic.
- Strong working knowledge of industry-standard software, including 3ds Max, V-Ray, Substance Painter, and Unity.
- Excellent creativity and artistic skills.
- An eye for composition, stylization, texture, color, and lighting.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.

- Willingness to remain up-to-date on the latest creative software and hardware.
- Attention to detail.
- Problem solving skills.
- Organized and timely.
- Strong passion for gaming.
- 3+ years professional games industry experience.

Major Plus:
- Knowledge of casual farm games.
- Ability to produce particles, shaders and other VFX in Unity.
