YOUR JOB
As the Director of Program, you will:
- Develop Leaders & Champion Change. Your primary impact is through your Associate Directors. Coach them on how to lead data-informed conversations, manage performance with empathy and accountability, and build team culture. Serve as a change management thought partner to the CPO and together lead the Program team through evolving expectations with clarity and conviction.
- Strategize & Innovate. Identify opportunities for improving Program team practices and processes. Design strategic solutions in collaboration with Product & Engineering and Data & Research, including AI-assisted tools and systems. Use data storytelling to help your team understand what the data reveals and what it means for coaching.
- Own Program Coherence & Fidelity. Hold ultimate responsibility, alongside the CPO, for how fully the program model is implemented. Serve as the primary leader for the quality assurance function, working closely with the ADs. Manage program model development, coordinate the implementation of learning agendas and pilots, and translate organizational vision into practice. Partner with the Product Manager, CPO, and Chief Technology Officer to advance the integrated coaching product where AI and human coaches work hand-in-hand.
- Collaborate Across the Organization. Serve as the CPO’s strategic partner and primary delegate on program decisions. Work across departments to ensure alignment between what is sold, communicated, and delivered. Join the ADs and CPO in representing Program across the organization and to customers and strategic partners.
YOUR TEAM
- You will report to the Chief Program Officer and serve as her strategic partner in moving the Program team toward the organization’s vision of scale while maintaining impact for students.
- You will manage two Associate Directors of Program. You are the senior-level manager for the coaches, Program Associate, and other staff who report to the Associate Directors.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
(include, but are not limited to)
- During consistently scheduled meetings, provide personalized leadership to your Associate Directors, offering guidance, modeling data-informed management, and developing their capacity to lead their teams with both empathy and accountability.
- Assess and analyze coach and student data across teams to identify program-wide patterns. Build your ADs’ ability to conduct this analysis independently so they surface insights and bring plans proactively.
- Own the design and maintenance of the performance support framework for the Program team. Ensure ADs understand how to manage it day to day, implementing it consistently with an eye toward learning and growth.
- Lead the change management process when program expectations, tools, or coaching models evolve. Bring ADs into the rationale early, provide context, gather their input, and resolve their questions before changes are communicated to coaches.
- Hold responsibility, alongside the CPO, for implementation fidelity across the program model, so the Program team exceeds goals for student satisfaction, engagement, and persistence. Anticipate and resolve systemic barriers to execution, ensuring clarity in roles, ownership, and decision-making.
- Partner with the Product Manager, CPO, and CTO to advance the integrated coaching product, ensuring that human and AI coaching work hand-in-hand and that the student experience is consistent across both.
- Identify and design improvements to program systems, tools, and processes in collaboration with Product & Engineering and Data & Research. This includes AI-assisted innovations, helping translate successful prototypes into organizational systems.
- Manage the program model development process, including translating organizational mandates into practice, coordinating systems and tool improvements across departments, and maintaining a learning agenda with Data & Research to guide pilots and measure impact.
- Successfully deliver cross-team and Program-specific projects from vision to execution, including project planning, risk identification, and regular progress visibility for senior management.
- Serve as a Program lead on strategic partnerships and select customer accounts, representing the coaching team to external stakeholders and coordinating across departments to deliver on commitments.
- Collaborate with Customer Success, Strategic Partnerships, and Data & Research to ensure alignment between what is sold, communicated, coached, and measured. Your ADs are already strong cross-functional collaborators; partner with them and the CPO to maintain alignment across teams.
- Ensure seamless completion of ongoing and annual program operations (coach onboarding, ongoing training, caseload assignments, coach and student offboarding) through direct ownership or delegation with oversight to your ADs.
- Lead all hiring for the Program team, managing outside recruitment consultants and working closely with HR & Operations to design hiring processes, select candidates, and ensure new hires are onboarded and developed to meet Beyond 12’s standards of excellence.
