Senior Solution Consultant, Tax Technology

Position Overview

Bentley is embarking on a transformational journey to modernize sales, marketing, integration, and ERP platforms to upscale our user experience and processes across the enterprise. This position is part of the Business Applications team which supports internal projects that impact a variety of internal and external stakeholders to deliver world-class enterprise applications. The Business Applications team is focused on streamlining our processes and creating engaging, efficient, and powerful user experiences. To complement this effort, the team is looking for senior solution consultant to drive tax technology solution design, implementation and operations in support our broader transactional processing application landscape. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter and have experience with design and implementation of tax technology solutions.

The Business Applications team is responsible for partnering with our business stakeholders to deliver optimized processes, systems, and data capabilities to grow our business. The solutions, provided by Business Applications, are the core of our internal and external user's experience who engage with Bentley Systems. We are seeking a leader who can drive tax technology solution design, implementation and operations in support our broader transactional processing application landscape. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter and have experience with design and implementation of tax technology solutions.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the tax, finance and accounting teams to understand indirect tax requirements, challenges and determine solution options.

• Conduct assessments to identify tax technology solution options, with advantages and disadvantages, and make recommendations to business partners.

• Configuration of tax technology solutions, such as Workday ERP, tax engines (Vertex or Avalara), and digital platforms, to automate and streamline tax processes and controls.

• Develop, test and implement indirect tax solutions based on business requirements.

• Collaborate across application teams to integrate tax solutions with other key transactional processing systems for a tightly integrated landscape.

• Develop collaborative relationships with key stakeholders across the entire organization and drive management methodologies with change champions in other teams.

• Foster a collaborative environment where differing perspectives are encouraged, acknowledged.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, information technology, or a related field.

• 3+ years of relevant experience in indirect tax, tax technology, or a similar role.

• Strong knowledge and understanding of indirect tax concepts, principles, and practices.

• Proficiency in using tax technology solutions, such as ERP systems, tax engines, and digital platforms, to automate and streamline tax processes and controls.

• Strong communication and presentation skills: exceptional writing skills. Effective communication in written and verbal form.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills, with the ability to deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines and pressure.

• A proactive, flexible, and collaborative approach, with the willingness to learn new skills and take on new challenges.

• A professional certification in tax, accounting, or information technology, such as CPA, CTA, or CISA, is a plus but not required.
