The story of Azelis begins in 2001, born from the strategic merger of two established players in the chemical distribution world: Novorchem from Italy and Arnaud from France. This union marked the start of a journey to build a leading global innovation service provider for the specialty chemicals and food ingredients industry. From its inception, Azelis was driven by a vision to do more than just move goods; the aim was to move markets forward. This ambition was quickly put into action with a series of strategic acquisitions designed to expand its geographical footprint and technical expertise. In 2002, the company welcomed Chance & Hunt, a UK-based firm with a rich history dating back to 1898 and deep knowledge in coatings, polymers, and food ingredients. This was followed by the acquisition of the Sibeco Group and Sepulchre in the Benelux region in 2004, and the Danish distributor Brøste in 2005, which significantly strengthened its presence in the Nordic countries.

The growth trajectory of Azelis continued to accelerate, fueled by a clear strategy of combining organic growth with targeted acquisitions. A pivotal moment came in 2015 with the acquisition of KODA Distribution Group, a major move that established Azelis Americas and marked the company's significant expansion into the North American market.
