About Avebe
We're a cooperative of over 2,000 Dutch farmers who've been working together since 1919 to unlock the potential of the humble potato. What started as a simple sales bureau for potato starch has grown into a global operation with 1,300 professionals across production sites in the Netherlands, Germany, and Sweden. We don't just process potatoes - we extract starch, protein, and other ingredients that end up in everything from plant-based burgers and dairy alternatives to animal feed and industrial applications like paper and construction materials.
Our approach is pretty straightforward: we take responsibility for the entire chain from field to factory, which means we can ensure quality, sustainability, and transparency every step of the way. At our Innovation Center in Groningen, we're constantly developing new potato varieties that are more resistant to disease and drought, require less water, and deliver better yields. We received the Royal Warrant in 2019 - a recognition that we're doing something right. But what we're most proud of is how we're accelerating the transition to plant-based foods and helping create a more sustainable food system for everyone.
