About the role
We are seeking a Data Engineer with strong experience in Azure Data Factory (ADF) and SQL Server to support a modernization initiative that transitions our current data integration landscape to Microsoft Fabric and Fabric Link. The ideal candidate will design and implement scalable data pipelines that bring together data from ERP (Dynamics 365 / Dynamics AX), financial systems, sales and marketing sources, and various external APIs. This role will play a critical part in enabling trusted, unified data delivery for enterprise reporting, analytics, and operational insights using Power BI.
What you will do:
- Data Pipeline Design & Development
- Build, optimize, and maintain ETL/ELT workflows using ADF, SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), and Azure Functions
- Migrate pipelines and orchestration layers toward Microsoft Fabric and Fabric Link ○ Integrate with a variety of structured and unstructured data sources including SaaS APIs, Dynamics 365, Dynamics AX, marketing & sales platforms, and financial systems
- Data Modeling & Architecture
- Design and validate semantic models for Power BI and Fabric-based reporting
- Implement data quality, lineage, metadata, and governance processes aligned with enterprise standards
- Data Operations
- Perform performance tuning for SQL Server databases and Fabric workloads
- Troubleshoot pipeline failures and proactively improve resiliency and observability
- Collaboration
- Partner with reporting analysts, business stakeholders, data scientists, and application engineering teams to deliver well-structured, analytics-ready datasets
- Support cross-functional projects linking sales, marketing, and financial data for unified business views
What you bring:
- 5–8+ years in Data Engineering roles with production implementation experience in an Agile environment
- Proficiency with:
- Azure Data Factory (ADF) — pipelines, triggers, integration runtimes
- SQL Server & T-SQL — stored procedures, optimization, replication
- SSIS — package development and modernization
- REST API & JSON integrations for ingestion and synchronization
- Experience working with ERP and B2B transaction data sets, specifically:
- Microsoft Dynamics 365 (F&O / Sales)
- Dynamics AX (AX 2012 or earlier)
- Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts: star schemas, SCDs, partitioning, and data quality approaches
- Hands-on Power BI data modeling experience (datasets, DAX, semantic layers)
Nice if you have:
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric, including:
- Fabric Link
- OneLake data lakehouse concepts
- Medallion architecture patterns
- Azure DevOps for CI/CD pipeline deployment
- Familiarity with marketing automation data domains and campaign analytics
- Python or .NET for automation and integration tasks
