Aroundhome's story began in 2008, initially founded as 'Käuferportal' by Robin Behlau and Mario Kohle in Berlin, Germany. The vision was to simplify the often complex and stressful process for homeowners undertaking significant projects around their property. They aimed to create a platform that would connect homeowners with qualified, local specialist companies for a wide range of needs, from installing solar panels and new windows to complete kitchen renovations. The early years focused on building a robust network of partner companies and establishing a trustworthy reputation among German homeowners. The company experienced steady growth, driven by its commitment to providing transparent information and reliable connections.

A significant turning point came in 2016 when ProSiebenSat.1 and General Atlantic made strategic investments, recognizing the platform's potential. This injection of capital and expertise fueled further expansion and development. In 2018, a pivotal rebranding occurred, and Käuferportal became Aroundhome, a name reflecting its comprehensive approach to all things related to the home. This change also marked a strategic shift to position the company as a holistic consultant for homeowners. In 2019, the NuCom Group, the commerce arm of ProSiebenSat.1 Media SE, acquired a majority stake in Aroundhome, further solidifying its market position and providing resources for continued growth and innovation. Over the years, Aroundhome has consistently grown, increasing its revenue and expanding its network of partner companies, becoming Germany's largest online broker for products and services around the house. The leadership has also evolved, with Dagmar Faltis and Thomas Bruns currently leading the company as Managing Directors, guiding Aroundhome in its mission to empower homeowners to make better decisions and realize their home projects with less stress.
