United States onlyApplied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) is actively seeking a skilled Staff Software Engineer to join our Computer Vision and Remote Sensing Group. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining a software pipeline processing high-volume satellite imagery to generate realistic 3D models of the real world for cutting-edge government research programs. The candidate will coordinate software development with computer vision scientists, machine learning algorithm developers, and software engineers in a highly collaborative work environment. The candidate may function as task leader and interface with clients.
Staff Software Engineer Required Experience:
- US Citizenship required.
- The nature of work (i.e. interactions with the intelligence community and DoD programs) requires eligibility to apply for and hold a US security clearance; selected applicants will undergo a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements at the time of employment.
- B.S. Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or similar technical field with 7 years of relevant experience or M.S. with 5 years of relevant experience.
- Strong foundation in software development and experience with Python and C++.
- Demonstrated experience going from problem statement to prototype to production-ready algorithms.
- Team player with excellent presentation and written/oral communication skills.
Staff Software Engineer Desirable Experiences:
- Experience in cloud-based, parallel, or distributed computing, in particular, Kubernetes, Argo Workflows, Amazon EKS, Red Hat OpenShift, etc.
- Familiarity with software design patterns and modern C++ and Python 3.x.
- Experience in managing Gitlab CI/CD
- Prior/existing security clearance.
Anticipated salary range: $88,200 - $147,000. Offer may vary depending on experience and skill set.
