The PLC & Automation Engineer plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer satisfaction by overseeing the implementation and ongoing support of our software solutions post-sale. This position entails configuring and deploying software, as well as integrating various automation systems to enhance client operations. Through effective user training and technical guidance, the engineer ensures clients maximize the value of our solutions. Furthermore, the PLC & Automation Engineer collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to navigate project developments and customize solutions that align with the unique requirements of each customer.
- Responsible for the commissioning of our software after the successful sale of our products, serving as the first contact for our customers on-site
- Install and configure our standard software either on-site at the customer or remotely, ensuring functionality and reliability
- Connect all common automation systems to our software system, facilitating seamless operations for our clients
- Train and instruct administrators and users, ensuring they understand how to effectively utilize our software and systems
- Provide ongoing support to users by addressing complex queries, analyzing errors, and collaborating with them to develop effective solutions and structures
- Provide staff-level technical configuration and programming as required to meet specific customer needs
- Serve in a project manager capacity through the management of the end-to-end system life cycle development of small to large-scale projects
- Conduct user needs analysis and contribute to business systems design for major projects
- Assist in developing client information management standards and evaluating technology trends
- Act as a liaison between clients and internal teams to ensure smooth project execution and customer satisfaction
- Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in engineering, computer science, or related field
- 2+ years of relevant work experience, with experience in commissioning software and working directly with clients
- Experience with Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider, and/or Emerson preferred
- Hands-on experience working with PLCs, HMIs, Robots, and DCS’s is essential
- Knowledge of networking concepts and technologies is a plus
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively
- A detail-oriented approach to documentation and process management
- Proven experience in customer service or client-facing roles, demonstrating the ability to manage relationships and address customer needs effectively
- Flexibility and adaptability to change
- A desire to learn and grow in the customer services field
- Ability to travel up to 20%
- Proficiency in Spanish and/or French is preferred
