To support our analytical team in Mainz, Germany, we are looking for an R&D Specialist – GPC/SEC with Advanced Detection M/F/D) with specific knowledge in the characterization of biopharmaceutical products using GPC/SEC.
Agilent Technologies is a leading supplier of analytical equipment for the life-science laboratory. The GPC/SEC Team in Mainz together with the Liquid Phase Division is part of Agilent’s Life Science and Diagnostics Groups and has worldwide responsibilities for R&D of GPC/SEC instruments, the corresponding Software as well as GPC/SEC applications development.
Are you familiar with modern Size Exclusion Chromatography/Gel Permeation Chromatography detectors such as on-line light scattering (static, dynamic), viscosity or mass spectrometry detection? Do you enjoy using and improving the latest technology and applying it to new challenges brought up by customers and markets? If your answer is yes, then this is the position to apply for.
You will:
- Work with the latest, innovative technology in the lab
- Support the R&D team by testing new instruments and software and providing feedback to improve Agilent’s analytical solutions
- Support customers around the globe, sales team and product managers to identify market needs
- Run samples, test and show the suitability of Agilents equipment to solve real life problems in industries and academia
- Develop workflows and LC-( GPC/SEC) Applications for Bio/Pharma and Applied Markets
- Communicate your results to our sales team and our customers by generating Application Notes and customer presentations
- Present your results in Application notes, papers, workshops and scientific conferences
Qualifications
- You have completed a Master’s degree or PhD in the Life Science or Analytical Chemical field and have relevant experience in liquid chromatography particularly in GPC/SEC
- You have experience and the theoretical background in LC techniques, particularly in GPC/SEC with advanced detection techniques like light scattering, viscometry and/or mass spectrometry
- You have a thorough understanding of the analytical challenges associated with the analysis of biopharmaceutical samples
- You can analyze scientific challenges, identify appropriate solutions and work independently
- You have outstanding oral and written communication skills in English and German language, and you are experienced in writing scientific publications
