As a Field Service Representative for Agilent, you will work at a variety of labs, so having an appetite for continuously learning about new instruments, software, and consumables is key. An Agilent Field Service Engineer supporting Biomolecular, Genomics, and Cellular Analysis instruments will travel to customers' laboratories to install, maintain, and repair the Agilent instruments. These instruments are critical tools in the research, development, and manufacturing of several key areas including Cell and Gene Therapy, Infectious Disease, Virology and Vaccine Research, Immunology, Immuno-oncology, and Immunotherapy, as well as Next Generation Sequencing, and Pre-Natal Disease Detection. The Biomolecular Service Organization is an evolving and fast-growing part of Agilent’s Customer Service Organization supporting these growing and exciting markets.
You will be responsible for the on-site installation, maintenance, and repair of one or more products related toCellular Analysis,Microarray Solutions,Automated Electrophoresis,Research Flow Cytometry,PCR/Real-Time PCR,Microplate Instrumentation, andAutomated Liquid Handling.
Job Requirement:
Must consent to participate and meet Agilent approved customer/vendor credentialing requirements necessary to gain access to customer sites. Requirements may include, but are not limited to, proof of identification, proof of certification to perform the work required, proof of citizenship, customer health and safety requirements, PPE certification or training, Specific vaccination requirements depending on industry.
Territory Coverage:
This is a multistate territory with primary coverage in the Indianapolis and Indiana markets.
The ideal candidate must reside within a 60-mile radius of Indianapolis.
Travel will include daily, overnight, and weekend travel, as needed, within Indiana and around the Central District, including Ohio, Kentucky, and Illinois.
The ability to travel to support clients throughout the 17-state district is a requirement for the role.
Key Responsibilities:
Installation and Optimization: Install and optimize hardware, software, and network products and configurations at customer sites.
Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve product performance problems to ensure optimal operation.
Maintenance and Repair: Perform maintenance and repair services to keep systems running smoothly and in line with assigned metrics, processes, and procedures.
Customer Satisfaction: Drive customer satisfaction through communication, attention to detail, proactive actions, and timely escalations as needed. Advise customers on preventive maintenance and configurations to enhance product performance.
Proactive Response: Respond proactively to potential equipment or software issues to prevent unplanned interruptions to customers' business operations.
Solution Delivery: Deliver fully integrated solutions, including peripherals, communications, operating systems, and applications software (note: design is not included).
Technical Resource: Serve as an internal resource on technical issues and manage product escalations.
Collaboration: Collaborate with Agilent teams such as Support, Sales, Marketing, and R&D to provide comprehensive solutions to customers.
Training: Deliver internal technical training and maintenance seminars and workshops for field engineers or customers. Train other field engineers or customers as needed.
Calibration: Calibrate equipment on-site for large volume customers.
Lead Qualification: Qualify leads to support sales efforts.
Credentialing Compliance: Consent to participate and meet Agilent-approved customer/vendor credentialing requirements necessary to gain access to customer sites. Requirements may include proof of identification, certification to perform required work, and adherence to customer health and safety standards.
Qualifications
- Minimum requirements include military training, an associate degree, OR some college with major coursework in electronics, or previous work experience in a related field will be considered.
- A Bachelor’s degree in the science or engineering field – e.g., chemistry, analytical, biomedical, or equivalent education and work experience is preferred.
- Meet Agilent-approved customer/vendor credentialing requirements necessary to gain site access, unless prohibited by law. These requirements vary by customer/vendor and may include, but are not limited to: post-employment background checks, various forms of drug testing, vaccinations, fingerprinting, proof of valid identification, and/or adherence to customer-specific substance abuse programs. Your consent to participate in customer-requested screening is a requirement of this position.
- Experience with troubleshooting and problem-solving.
- Verbal and written communication is clear, respectful, and timely.
- You must have a valid driver's license.
- This position requires transportation to support customers. Applicants must have their means of transportation for mileage reimbursement if a company vehicle is not provided.
- Must enjoy visiting customers, and that may have occasional overnight stays if needed
- Travel requirement: Must be available for up to 60-75%, but not limited to travel within the territory to support clients.
