About the role:

We are seeking a Data Science & Machine Learning Product Manager to lead the development and scaling of data-driven products that power Accompany Health’s mission. This role sits at the intersection of data science, clinical operations, and product strategy—translating complex technical capabilities into practical solutions that improve patient outcomes and empower our care teams.
You will partner closely with our data science and machine learning team, clinical and operations teams, and the rest of the product team to define product vision, prioritize initiatives, and deliver AI/ML products that are safe, effective, and impactful.
Current and upcoming initiatives include:
-Patient segmentation for utilization risk and engagement personas
-AI copilots to support clinicians and community health workers with guideline reinforcement and SDOH workflows
-NLP models to extract insights from unstructured clinical notes (e.g., conditions, care team structures, treatment history)
-Predictive models to personalize patient engagement and improve adherence

Responsibilities will include:

  • Essential Functions:
  • Product Roadmapping: Define the roadmap for data science and machine learning products, aligning with Accompany Health’s mission and clinical priorities
  • Collaboration: Partner with data scientists, engineers, clinical and operations leadership teams to design and implement ML-powered workflows and tools
  • Translation & Communication: Act as the bridge between technical teams and frontline staff, ensuring models are interpretable, clinically relevant, and actionable
  • Lifecycle Management: Own the end-to-end product lifecycle for ML solutions—from ideation, requirements, and prototyping to testing, deployment, and iteration
  • Evaluation & Impact: Establish success metrics for ML products and work with analytics and clinical leaders to evaluate effectiveness and drive continuous improvement
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure ML products adhere to ethical standards, regulatory requirements, and patient safety guidelines
  • Performs other duties as assigned

What makes you a fit for the team:

  • You approach work with humility and a desire to grow in a mission-driven, startup environment
  • You are eager to learn about the needs of clinicians, patients, and technical teams
  • You communicate clearly and take pride in your documentation and follow-through
  • You’re comfortable asking questions and raising risks or blockers to your team
  • You are curious, adaptable, and ready to support a wide range of team activities as needs evolve

Desired skills and experience:

  • Required
  • 3+ years of product management experience, ideally in data science, machine learning, or healthcare technology
  • Strong understanding of ML concepts (e.g., NLP, predictive modeling, risk stratification) and ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams
  • Familiarity with healthcare data (claims, EMR/EHR, SDOH), clinical workflows, and regulatory considerations
  • Ability to balance long-term vision with practical, incremental product delivery
  • Exceptional ability to translate complex technical ideas into clear, user-centered product decisions for clinical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Passion for advancing health equity and improving care for underserved populations
  • Preferred
  • Experience in clinical decision support, population health management, or care coordination technology
  • Exposure to healthcare compliance frameworks (HIPAA, HITRUST, etc.)
  • Background in data science, engineering, or a technical field
