Our customer is a German IT service provider specializing in infrastructure and digital solutions for cooperative banks. For this project, we are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer with strong expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Windows automation. The engineer will play a key role in designing and implementing custom Terraform providers and Ansible collections for on-premises infrastructure, helping the customer transition from manual administration to fully automated IaC workflows.
Responsibilities
Terraform & Ansible Development → Design, develop and maintain custom Terraform providers and Ansible collections for on-premises platforms lacking existing automation.
Windows Infrastructure Automation → Automate Windows environments (Active Directory, Windows Server, Hyper-V, networking and storage) using Terraform, Ansible and PowerShell.
API & Adapter Development → Build and integrate APIs or adapters where automation interfaces are missing.
Embedded Collaboration → Work as an integrated member of customer squads, contributing directly to backlog tasks and automation initiatives.
Knowledge Sharing → Support adoption of the IaC mindset by documenting solutions, pairing with internal engineers and coaching them on automation best practices.
Cross-Domain Support → Contribute to automation across other infrastructure domains (Linux, storage, networking, hypervisors) where needed.
5+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability or Infrastructure Engineering.
Hands-on expertise with Terraform (modules, state/import) and proven experience developing custom providers in Go.
Strong Windows automation skills: Active Directory, Windows Server, Hyper-V, PowerShell scripting and API integrations.
Experience with Ansible (collections, idempotent modules) for infrastructure automation.
Programming skills in Go (mandatory for Terraform providers) and Python; solid API design/integration knowledge.
Familiarity with Linux administration, networking, storage or databases is a plus.
Fluency in English (mandatory); German is an advantage.

- Emotional Wellbeing: We believe that to maintain our overall health, we need to invest in our mental wellbeing just as much as we do in our physical health, social connections or in achieving work-life balance.
- Social Wellbeing: As a growing community in a hybrid environment, we want to ensure we remain connected not just by the great work we do every day but through our passions and interests.
