Automation Test Engineer with QF Test

One of our clients is a prominent player in the European pet care retail sector, where we support a range of digital initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and customer experience. Our work focuses on optimizing workflows and delivering seamless, user-friendly solutions across various platforms.

We are currently involved in several key projects for the client, including a merchandise management solution with an Angular-based mobile-first frontend, tightly integrated with the SAP ERP backend via standard APIs, covering stock processes like goods movement, stock taking, orders, and returns. Additionally, we support the development of a Java-based application as an extension to the POS system to enhance in-store operations.

Project scope

• Design and implement automated test scripts for a browser-based WaWi (commodity economy) web frontend
• Design and implement automated test scripts for a Java-based GEWI (monetary economy) application
• Develop integration test scenarios with SAP LogonPad
• Create a comprehensive end-to-end test automation framework
• Ensure cross-browser compatibility and robust test execution

Responsibilities

• Develop Scalable Automation – Design and maintain test automation solutions that are maintainable and scalable, ensuring long-term efficiency and reliability.
• Implement Effective Practices – Apply keyword-driven development principles to enhance reusability, readability, and consistency across test cases.
• Ensure UI Coverage – Create comprehensive UI test coverage to validate user workflows and guarantee a seamless end-user experience.
• Integrate Seamlessly – Incorporate automated tests into the Jenkins CI/CD pipeline, supporting continuous integration and delivery processes.
• Collaborate for Quality – Work closely with development teams to uphold quality standards and ensure alignment between testing and implementation.

• Practical scripting experience with Jython and Groovy
• Good understanding of test design, regression testing, and functional validation
• Strong debugging, analysis, and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automated test integration
• Experience working with event-driven desktop GUIs (Java based app)
• Familiar with structured test management and defect tracking tools
• Understanding of automation frameworks for complex enterprise applications
• General scripting know-how: loops, conditions, variables, and functions
• Experience creating reusable test libraries and components
• Data-driven testing using parameters or external data sources

Tool-Specific Skills (QF-Test)

• Recording and refining test sequences
• Handling object recognition (components, IDs, accessibility properties)
• Implementing error handling and recovery strategies
• Integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines

Nice to have:

• Experience with API testing tools and frameworks (e.g., Postman, REST Assured)
• Background in BDD frameworks such as Cucumber or CodeceptJS
• Knowledge of asynchronous behavior and related test challenges
• Exposure to other automation tools like Selenium, Tosca
