YIBEI ZHU
@yibeizhu
Medical student and congenital heart disease researcher at Cleveland Clinic and Akron Children’s Hospital; published a valve-replacement decision analysis.
What I'm looking for
At Cleveland Clinic and Akron Children’s Hospital, I developed a Markov decision-analysis model comparing surgical and transcatheter pulmonary valve replacement for young adults with repaired Tetralogy of Fallot. This work resulted in a first-author publication and national presentations.
As a Sarnoff Fellow at the University of California, San Francisco, I analyzed fetal echocardiography datasets and collaborated on deep learning models for prenatal congenital heart disease detection. I also implemented a YOLO-based view classification pipeline to study model generalizability in community settings.
I co-founded HyperCase to connect interdisciplinary teams with clinical needs, mentorship, and resources for health innovation. My work in health equity and Mandarin interpretation has also shaped my commitment to serving diverse communities through culturally responsive care and medical education.
