Wasi Khan

I am a final-year BS Artificial Intelligence student with hands-on experience in AI engineering, machine learning, computer vision, NLP, backend development, and full-stack application development. I am particularly interested in building practical AI systems that solve real-world problems and can be deployed reliably in production environments.

During my Short Term Internship at the Pakistan Institute for Parliamentary Services (PIPS), I engineered and delivered two major systems. The first was PIPS AI NEXUS, a fully self-hosted, offline RAG-based document intelligence platform for more than 24,000 parliamentary records. I worked with React, FastAPI, Qdrant, PostgreSQL, BAAI/bge-m3 multilingual embeddings, Docker Compose, and Nginx, while implementing features such as authentication, RBAC, rate limiting, OCR fallback, incremental indexing, health checks, and automated backups. I also developed a Moodle-based Learning Management System for PIPS. Both projects were recognised with a Certificate of Achievement by the Director IT and Director General IT, PIPS.

My academic and personal projects include Leuko-AI, an explainable leukemia detection system combining ResNet18, Vision Transformer and frequency-domain features; Smart Traffic Vision using YOLOv8 and ByteTrack; an explainable deepfake detector; a local AI automation system using Ollama and Browser Use; and a multi-service super-app using React Native, Expo and Firebase.

My main interests are Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Generative AI, RAG systems, Computer Vision, NLP, AI agents, backend engineering, and scalable software systems. I am looking for opportunities where I can contribute to challenging projects, learn from experienced engineers, and grow into a strong AI/ML engineer while delivering measurable real-world impact.
