Vladyslav Onufrei
@vladyslavonufrei
Energy market analyst specializing in European gas, LNG & carbon fundamentals, risk and regulation-driven price views.
What I'm looking for
I’m an energy market analyst with 7+ years covering European natural gas, LNG and carbon markets. My core strength is fundamental analysis—building supply-demand balance models, monitoring LNG flows and storage trajectories, and turning benchmark dynamics (TTF, NBP, JKM, EUA) into clear price views for senior decision-makers.
I’ve delivered market intelligence to the EBRD and EU institutional stakeholders, and I played a key advisory role in the 2019 Russia-Ukraine gas transit negotiations. I also authored the framework that resolved a $1.25 bn PSO compensation dispute, while drafting 14 government regulations and producing 60+ analytical reports.
In my current work with URAF (EBRD-funded) and the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, I build quarterly commodity balance models in Python and advanced Excel to forecast heating-season parameters and procurement needs. I apply VaR, stress testing, and scenario modelling to quantify tail-risk exposure from supply disruption and transit-loss events under wartime constraints, and I translate those findings into actionable intelligence.
I also bring policy-side command of EU market regulation—REMIT, EU ETS, CBAM and gas storage obligations—which I apply directly to regulatory-driven price analysis and compliance contexts. I support decisions with Tableau and Power BI dashboards, and I’m consistently focused on delivering rigorous, disruption-resilient analysis that holds up under extreme conditions.
