Vincent Tseng
@vincenttseng
Robotics software engineer who builds ROS-based systems and applies data/ML to real-world autonomy.
What I'm looking for
I’m a robotics software engineer building backend services that connect autonomy workflows across hardware and software—especially in ROS-based stacks. I bring strong technical grounding from Lehigh University’s Computer Science (Comp. Sci. & Business Honors Program), with a 3.88 GPA and ongoing research in data-driven sensing.
At Joule Labs, I built and integrated backend services across the Charger Management System, robot arm, and frontend to support autonomous EV charging workflows. I worked in a ROS-based stack to support robot control and hardware integration, including transitioning workflows from RoboDK to ROS-native control and testing, while improving reliability in the core software powering the system.
Previously, I automated high-impact data and dashboard workflows at Pegatron and as a Software Engineer Intern. Using Python (Pandas) and Excel automation, I reduced 25% of monthly work by streamlining repetitive spreadsheet tasks, and I collaborated on real-time financial planning and modeling. I also used React and DBeaver to deliver dynamic dashboards used company-wide, and Python Airtest to accelerate daily IT workflows—saving $20k+ per year.
In my research and campus leadership, I keep pushing toward practical intelligence: as an undergraduate researcher at BINA Lab, I’m building computer vision/ML models (semantic segmentation and object detection) on UAV imagery to map structural and hurricane/flood damage and generate actionable insights for insurance underwriting and claims. I also support students as a Teaching Assistant and help lead robotics efforts through club leadership and technical mentorship.
