Backend engineer and CTO at CendMate, building cross-border payments that move around CAD $1M monthly.

Message

At CendMate, I built and run a live cross-border remittance platform used by 500+ people, moving around CAD $1M every month. I architected its transfer pipeline with per-user queues, KYC and risk checks, and idempotency protections so retries don't send money twice.

I built CendMate's platform from scratch, including a TypeScript and Hono backend on Cloudflare Workers, an operations dashboard, and a Flutter mobile app. I also moved latency-sensitive APIs to Cloudflare Workers to remove cold starts for mobile users on weak connections.

At CendMate, I built an AI-driven risk service for onboarding and ongoing transaction monitoring, and integrated LLMs into document-processing workflows. I lead engineering direction and standards, mentor engineers, and work with product, compliance, and data teams.

Earlier, at SalonEverywhere Inc., I designed and deployed a serverless AWS architecture that cut infrastructure costs by 50%, and worked on real-time mobile sync and published Android and iOS apps. As a freelance developer, I also built a medical booking platform and delivered client integrations; my current projects include AI-powered IELTS preparation and Web3 payments.
