Vanessa Mugwelo

I am a detail-oriented and results-driven professional with a strong academic foundation in actuarial science and expertise in data analytics, modeling, and financial reporting. I graduated with High Distinction from the University of Essex, where I specialized in stochastic modeling, financial derivatives, and contingencies. My academic journey has equipped me with the skills necessary to extract meaningful insights from data, solve complex problems, and drive business decisions.

Currently, I serve as a Pricing Actuary at MIC Global, where I build and monitor pricing models for data-driven decision-making. My role involves developing and implementing data strategies in collaboration with business teams, performing testing and validation of datasets, and presenting complex pricing decisions to non-technical stakeholders. I have also gained valuable experience as an Actuarial Graduate Trainee at AIG Insurance Kenya, where I conducted pricing and quoting for new insurance business policies, and as a Business Banking Intern at Commercial Bank of Africa, where I analyzed financial data for client loan underwriting.
