Vanessa Gouveia

I've taught Kindergarten through Grade 8 across Kootenay Lake SD8, Yaqan Nukiy School, Adam Robertson Elementary School, and Erickson Elementary School, creating structured, inclusive classrooms and adapting lessons for diverse learners. I currently serve as a teacher-on-call, supporting students with age-appropriate material, flexible teaching strategies, and fair conflict resolution.

At Yaqan Nukiy School, I taught fine arts and inclusive education, supported IEP meetings and special education funding reports, trained teachers on the Acadience reading program, and compiled school-wide reading scores. I bring a love of visual arts, drama, dance, music, English language learning, and student-centered approaches that help learners grow in confidence and independence.
