I provide specialist psychiatric care at Dilchora Referral Hospital and teach medical students at Dire Dawa University across outpatient, inpatient, emergency, addiction, consultation-liaison, and community services.
I develop teaching materials and training manuals, supervise medical students and junior physicians, and support WHO mhGAP implementation and mental health quality-improvement activities.
As Country Co-Lead and Co-Investigator with the NIHR Global Health Research Group at the University of Aberdeen, I coordinate school-based child and adolescent mental health research in Ethiopia and Rwanda. I support mixed-methods data collection, research quality assurance, ethical approvals, staff mentorship, publications, and conference presentations.
I also provide part-time consultant psychiatric care and mental health and psychosocial support, including support for gender-based violence cases and staff wellbeing.
