Tshepo Mathebula
@tshepomathebula
I structure investments and commercialise innovation to build sustainable ventures and developmental impact.
What I'm looking for
At Ex-Books, I lead a venture studio commercialising vertical software products for African markets, owning commercial strategy, capital allocation and organisational performance. I turn innovation and intellectual property into sustainable ventures, including leading a R2.5m SAFE round at a R15m pre-money cap.
Previously at AEMFC, I originated and executed the R1.1bn Ergosat transaction from business development and financial modelling through investment-committee approval and post-approval monitoring. My work brings together government, DFIs, industry and private capital to unlock infrastructure and energy projects with economic-development impact.
Across SUCA, Makosi, National Treasury, Driven Development and LightHouse Investment, I've advised on private equity, venture capital, M&A, fundraising, valuation, due diligence and portfolio monitoring. I've also led teams, mentored analysts and reported comfortably to investment committees and boards.
I'm currently completing an MPhil in Development Finance, focused on blended finance, DFI frameworks and inclusive growth. I work at the intersection of public purpose and private investment, balancing commercial returns with transformation and long-term impact.
