Terry Wainaina

I am a detail-oriented perioperative theatre technician with hands-on experience supporting elective and emergency surgical procedures. I trained through an internship at Consolata Mathari Hospital and assisted a Consultant Neurosurgeon in Murang’a County.

I specialize in operating theatre preparation, surgical instrument handling, cleaning and sterilization, and maintaining aseptic technique to uphold infection prevention and control standards. I contribute to patient preparation, positioning, transfer, and post-operative care.

My practical experience includes assisting surgeons, anesthetists, and theatre nurses during a range of procedures, preparing and ensuring availability of sterile instruments, and supporting neurosurgical cases under specialist supervision. I excel working under pressure and supporting efficient theatre workflows.

I hold a Certificate in Perioperative Theatre Technology and am committed to patient safety, ethical practice, and collaborative team-based surgical care.
