Taylor Thompson

Certified Clinical Medical Assistant specializing in neurology support, patient scheduling, and EHR accuracy.
What I'm looking for
I’m a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant focused on delivering excellent patient care through reliable clinical support and precise front-office coordination. In my roles with WVU Medicine/Mercer Medical Group, I worked alongside two local neurologists to keep care coordinated and moving efficiently.
I handle key patient-support workflows end to end: answering telephones and messages, greeting patients, relaying information to physicians and staff, and completing follow-up via telephone, secure messaging, chat/text, and fax. I schedule, reschedule, and manage consults, update demographics, track no-shows, and determine whether patients need immediate or routine appointments using clinic schedule and patient information.
I also maintain accuracy in the electronic health record—monitoring Epic for verification/validation, managing referral and order status, processing medication refill requests, and supporting prior authorizations (MRIs, CT, Echo, EEGs). Clinically, I perform procedures including vital signs and EKGs, drawing blood, injections, and Botox.
I’m experienced across clinical operations and lab support, including phlebotomy using established guidelines and proper specimen labeling. I bring DOT and non-DOT experience through breath alcohol testing and comprehensive health exam support, with strong foundational training from an Associate’s degree in Medical Assisting (GPA 3.5) and AHA Healthcare Provider CPR certification.
