Tarryn Stones

I’m a passionate Head of Department and teaching professional with experience across KG to Grade 4, delivering strong outcomes in English, Mathematics, and Science. With 9+ years under the British and American curriculum frameworks, I bring a practical, student-first approach grounded in sound pedagogy.

As HOD, I lead the execution and preparation of Faculty (KG–Grade 4) programmes and teaching duties in line with British-Bridge to Success and American-Common Core Curriculums. I project manage multiple programmes, coordinate and develop TIMSS across the faculty, support the Principal with academic policies and procedures, and provide senior-level insight by interpreting educational trends and student data.

I focus on continuous improvement through in-depth data analysis and consultation, helping teams identify strengths and development areas and then translating that insight into learning experiences. I’ve also designed digital and virtual teaching structures to support remote learning during COVID-19, while ensuring inclusion by modifying learning programs for IEP and SEN students.

In the classroom, I plan and implement curriculum calendars and interactive lessons that bring theory to life, develop homework and support plans, and run parent communication and feedback sessions to keep families engaged. I’ve built my teaching foundation through B.Ed (Foundation and Honors) studies in South Africa, and strengthened my practice with TESOL, TEFL, and training such as an introduction to data analysis using Excel.
